Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara – Overview
The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki finally launched its first mid-size SUV new Maruti Grand Vitara SUV in the Indian market on Monday. The Indo-Japanese automaker has launched the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV in India at an initial ex-showroom price of Rs. 10.45 lakhs goes upto Rs. 19.49 lakhs. With this, Maruti Suzuki has entered the mid-size SUV segment for the first time in India.
The Grand Vitara is the flagship SUV in Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio. This will be the carmaker’s first robust hybrid product in India. The SUV will be available in 6 trims in 10 variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha and Alpha+. The 1.5-litre petrol mild hybrid powertrain producing 103 bhp power will be offered on the Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims. All these four trims will get a standard 5-speed manual gearbox. At the same time, a 6-speed automatic transmission will be available in the Delta trim and all the above trims.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara – Specifications
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been launched in two engine options. It will get a 1.5-litre mild hybrid engine and a new 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine. The mild hybrid engine will generate 100 PS and 135 Nm of torque. It will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. It will get a mileage of 21.11 kmpl. Talking about the strong hybrid engine, it will generate maximum power of 115 PS. It will get the maximum mileage of 27.97 kmpl. The SUV is available in 4 drive modes – EV, Eco, Power and Normal. The Grand Vitara will be offered with 6 monotone color options and 3-dualtone color options.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara – Dimensions
The new SUV is developed on Suzuki’s Global-C platform that underpins the new-gen S-Cross on sale in global markets. In terms of proportions, the new Grand Vitara is 4,345mm long, 1,795mm wide and 1,645mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. The 5-seater SUV has a fuel tank of 45-litres capacity.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara – Design
Exterior
The new Grand Vitara gets a sleek and muscular design. The large front grille and square wheel arches give the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara a modern yet attractive look. There is a split headlamp design at the front. The 2022 Grand Vitara gets projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, plastic body cladding, 17-inch wheels and more. At the rear, there are sleek LED tail lamps.
Interior
Talking about the interiors of the SUV, it has been made in a dual-tone theme of black and brown. The seats have been designed in faux black leather with champagne gold accents in the Strong Hybrid variant, while the Smart Hybrid variant will get a silver accent. The Grand Vitara is the first vehicle from Maruti Suzuki to be offered with a panoramic sunroof. It also comes with a heads-up display, wireless charger, a digital instrument cluster, 360-degree parking camera and connected car technology.
