A paradise for non-vegetarians, Barbeque Nation offers lip-smacking starters. With its eat-till-you-drop fixed-menu option, the restaurant is visited by hungry regulars. There is a menu of the day that changes regularly. You are served your starters at your table (you indicate whether you want vegetarian or non-vegetarian). You get up for the main courses. The fixed price is gratifyingly low and technically you could eat up a storm for a relatively modest outlay, which explains the popularity. Frankly, with prices like theirs, it is a business run like a caterer rather than a fine-dining gastronomic paradise. If you are craving Fish, chicken or mutton, go to Barbeque Nation.

I went to this joint once with family and trust me, the experience was exhilarating. Once seated the server asked us if we knew about the grill & buffet concept of the place & explained about it & the menu that we would be served. Then came something that surprised rather I’d say delighted us; Complimentary pint of beer. For the non-alcoholics they serve mock-tails or fresh lime. This seemed a great start to the family lunch that we had been looking forward to for a long time.

The griller was set on the table & the starters kept coming. For the non-veg buffet, we were served with prawns, fish, chicken tikka, mutton seekh & chicken leg piece. The prawns & the chicken tikka were best out out of the lot. During this time the servers kept checking with us on the quality of food, never leaving the skewers on the grill without any food.
The main course had Biryani, Rara gosht, khatta chicken, fish with a gravy along with vegetarian dishes like dal makhani, paneer masala, Dhingree ka keema, different kind of salads served along with naan, roti & lacha parantha. The chicken biryani was good & the mix salad which had corn, tomatoes, onion & capsicum was also prepared well. The deserts, especially the mango pastry & lauki ki kheer served as a perfect end to the scrumptious afternoon meal.

No doubt, it is value for money at Rs 671 (non-veg lunch) especially if you are served with a pint of beer as a complimentary drink & mineral water bottles at your table all inclusive. What I really appreciate the courteousness of the staff & the ever smiling faces considering the high level of energy that they need to maintain to cater to the guests. A lovely experience that deserves many more visits!!!
