The Volkswagen Polo hatchback was launched in 2010 and since then the German automaker has ensured that the vehicle is refreshed often to keep it looking young and appealing. The Polo is powered by a range of petrol and diesel powertrains, which gives the buyer a variety of options to pick from. The Volkswagen Polo now comes with an array of features and gets most of them what other premium hatchbacks offer. The Volkswagen Polo has good performance with the TSI engine and the diesel engine. This has one of the best performance in its segment and even the handling of the Polo is as good as any other Volkswagens. The alacrity of the chassis is one of the best on the Polo. The Volkswagen Polo comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns about 75bhp of power and comes with a five-speed manual transmission. The Polo GT TSI gets the 104bhp 1.2-litre TSI that comes mated to a seven-speed dual catch transmission. The updated 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine develops 89bhp of power and is mated to five-speed manual gearbox. The diesel also comes with a higher state of tune at 108bhp for the GT TDI.

As we all know that Polo is the one of most modern looking and stylish hatchbacks in the market. The styling is sporty, but understated and mature at the same time With a length of 3,971mm, width of 1,682mm and height of 1,469mm, the Polo is just the right size for an urban hatchback car. The sleek front grille comes with sharp looking headlamps and then there are some chrome additions that is similar to other Volkswagen fascias. The side profile of the Polo hasn't changed and this still looks a well proportionate hatchback. The rear of the Polo doesn’t get a major update. The 10-spoke alloy wheel design looks stylish and much better than the Vento. 15-inch wheels are offered on the Highline variant, while the rest of them get 14-inch ones.

Volkswagen has been updating the Polo’s interiors from time to time and now the premium hatchback comes loaded with features like touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, satellite navigation, USB and aux in-put, steering mounted audio controls. The GT range has full black interiors and this makes it look sportier. The space in the front row is good, however it is the second row that is tight on space making it difficult for tall people to seat behind. The interiors are neither too cramped nor too spacious, but if you're looking to be chauffeur driven, the cabin may disappoint. The front row space is par for the course, but the space at the rear is inadequate and can’t hold a stone to the likes of the Honda Jazz or Maruti Baleno.
