Tata Motors showcased the electric iteration of the Altroz premium hatchback at this year’s Auto Expo. The electric hatchback was first unveiled alongside the ICE (internal combustion engine) Altroz at the last year’s Geneva Motor Show. The Tata Altroz EV is one of the four all electric models that the company has planned to launch in the next one year in the country. But due to Covid-19 pendemic the launches could be bother and may take some more time in India.
On another side, Renault motor also gearing up to bring its electric car ‘Zoe’ to India by 2020-2021. To observe the market interest, the model already showcased in February Auto Expo this year in Noida. The car is currently being tested and modified to make it suitable for our conditions (especially for our climate), with Renault testing the range locally as well. The first cars to go on sale are likely to be partly assembled in India at the Alliance plant in Chennai.

Tata Altroz EV vs Renault Zoe EV – Design
Visually, Tata Altroz EV not looks too different to the standard petrol and diesel versions of the hatchback. A concealed grille, star patterns on the front air dam and a different design for the alloy wheels will be some details exclusive to the Altroz EV. On the inside, the absence of a transmission tunnel has given Tata designers the option to go for a floating dashboard that promises to enhance the feeling of airiness up front. Light upholstery and blue detailing across the cabin will also help establish this as the electric version of the Altroz.
On another side, the upcoming Renault Zoe EV is an amalgamation of the standard Renault Zoe which is currently on sale in other countries, which gives it a sporty design. Unlike the usual EVs which feature a boxy silhouette, the Renault Zoe was seen sporting satin blue bodywork reminiscent of the Renault dams single-seater exterior styling and C-shape lighting signature and Renault badge with a back lit treatment. The insides of the upcoming Renault Zoe are expected to be styled in line with its sporty exteriors. Additionally, Renault will pack a bunch of comfort and connectivity tech.
