Hyundai Motor India has launched the new Verna facelift in the month of May for an introductory price of Rs 9.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Equipped with a host of first-in-segment and best-in-segment features, the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift will take on the likes of the upcoming fifth-generation Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento. The Verna facelift is third major launch of the Hyundai auto company after next-gen Creta and Aura. Hyundai Motor India had to postpone its plans owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Honda City facelift is in the making and is likely to come out by 2020. Currently, in its fourth generation, the all-new Honda City Facelift 2020 will receive some mechanical and cosmetic updates. Sharper styling cues and use of top-notch quality material will make it an even better and plusher product than it is at present. It is also believed that Honda will add a mild-hybrid variant to the range, along the lines of what Maruti Suzuki offers on the Ciaz. As for Honda City, facelift price is expected to start from Rs.10 lakhs in India.
2020 Honda City vs Hyundai Verna facelift – Design
Exterior:- The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift gets an updated front fascia with dark chrome grille flanked by LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The redesigned front bumper houses LED fog lights now. The rear has been refurbished and gets LED taillamps, twin tip muffler and new bumper. Also available are new diamond cut alloy wheels. The new Hyundai Verna facelift is available in four variants — S, S+, SX and SX(O). The Wonder Warranty scheme allows the customers to choose between three warranty options – 3-year/unlimited km or 4-year/60,000km or 5-year/50,000km. Besides, the Hyundai Verna facelift comes with a 3-year standard road-side assistance, Blue Link subscription and map updates.
On the other hand, Upcoming 2020 Honda City exteriors look elegant and modern and can be instantly recognized as a Honda due to its thick chrome band that runs across the grille and merges into the automatic LED headlamps which also comes with LED Daytime-Running Lamps. The side profile is elegant just like the previous generations of Honda City and comes with all-new diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear of the Honda City looks fresh due to the new elongated LED tail-lamps. Honda has derived many cosmetic features from the Accord and Amaze.
Interior:- From the Inside, the new Verna facelift has premium cabin space to be in. There is a new 8-inch touchscreen AVNT with HD display and digital instrument panel with 4.2-inch colour TFT MID. The front seats are ventilated. Among the other notable features of the mid-size sedan are wireless phone charger, driver rear view monitor, Eco coating, Arkamys premium sound, tyre pressure monitoring system and electric sunroof. The 2020 Verna facelift features paddle shifter as well. Like several other Hyundai vehicles, the new Verna facelift is also a connected vehicle and comes with Blue Link connectivity technology offering 45 features.
The Honda City facelift interiors will be more premium than the current generation model. Honda is expected to use top-notch quality material inside the cabin and add more features to it to make it more desirable. While the sedan already offers a host of comfort and connectivity features, there could be some more added to the list. The dashboard has been kept the simplistic design with a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with vertically placed air conditioning vents. The new touchscreen infotainment system comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and in-built navigation.
