Haima 7x | First Half, 2021 |
Tata Gravitas made its India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo ahead of its launch in the first half of FY2021. The 7-seat sibling of the Tata Harrier – the Gravitas – was first showcased at the 2019 Geneva motor show as the Buzzard SUV. Tata Motors tasted major success with the Harrier SUV. This time around Tata Motors has further expanded its product line up with the Gravitas. It’s a seven-seat version of the Harrier.
On the Another side, Chinese carmaker FAW-Haima has showcased its rather radical looking 7X MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo. The model has been brought into gauge customer interest before Haima’s planned entry into the Indian market.
Tata Gravitas vs Haima 7x – Design
Exterior:- From the outside, Tata Gravita looks quite similar to the BS6-compliant Harrier. It gets a stretched look featuring a cascading grille with honeycomb patterns, LED DRLs, and faux skid plates on both the ends. The most evident design related differences you will see on the Tata Gravitas as compared to the Harrier SUV include revised design for the alloy wheels, a stepped roof, and a bigger glasshouse area among other things. The rear, however, is largely the same as what you get on the Tata Harrier. But a major difference is that the Gravitas gets new design for tail lights that includes twin-stripe LED pattern.
Another Side, Haima 7x comes with a bulky stance and is comparatively taller and wider than the Tata Gravitas. The 7x stands out for its wide, Maserati-esque grille that is sure to polarise opinion. Slim headlights, oversized haunches and multiple light catching surfaces also add to the extroverted look. Blacked-out pillars lend the look of a floating roof and wheel arches. Noticeble, the 7X gets car-like hinged rear doors and not sliding doors. At the back, the tailgate features a prominent blacked out section housing the large tail-lamps and windshield with a black-finished integrated spoiler at the top.
Interior:- Inside of the car, the Gravitas gets a spacious seven-seater cabin with three seating rows including captain seats on the second row. The car houses a semi-digital instrument cluster, a floating touchscreen infotainment panel with connectivity features, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. Apart from that, the SUV also gets auto-dimming IRVM, JBL sound system, and six airbags, but misses out on the panoramic sunroof.
On the other side, the Haima 7X features a spacious and luxurious cabin that can accommodate seven people. The car comes with leather upholstery, a large panoramic sunroof, and a multifunctional steering wheel with cruise control. The dashboard is dominated by a dual digital displays – similar to high-end Mercedes – housing the infotainment and instrumentation. Lower on the centre console sit control surfaces for the air-con system with the high central floor console housing the gearlever, surrounded by more buttons and a rotary control for the infotainment system.
