All about Upcoming Upcoming Tata HBX vs Maruti Suzuki S-presso micro SUVs ✓ Specification ✓ Price ✓ Mileage ✓ Color ✓ Features ✓ ABS ✓ Comparison.

Tata has been developing the HBX micro-SUV from quite sometime now. The vehicle was also showcased as a near-production concept at the Auto Expo this year. Tata plans to launch it in the second half of 2020 and it will be a threat to the likes of the Maruti Ignis, Maruti S-presso and the Mahindra KUV100. The Tata HBX will be the smallest SUV from the home-grown automaker and will be based on the ALFA (Agile, Light, Flexible, Advanced) architecture, which currently underpins the Tata Altroz. The Tata HBX will be the second vehicle from the company to be built on the new platform and employs the Impact Design 2.0 design philosophy.

Upcoming Tata HBX vs Maruti Suzuki S-presso – Design

Exterior:- Visually, the Tata Micro SUV will come with the split headlamp setup, with the primary lights positioned below and the LED daytime running lights (DRLs) placed above it, closer to the front grille. The micro SUV concept also came with floating style roof with roof rack, and at the rear, the SUV comes with small taillamps with Tri-Arrow design LED guide lights, a sculpted tailgate and a faux skid plate. Tata has also said that the HBX will offer best-in-class connectivity features integrated with the highly capable infotainment system.

The exterior of the Maruti S-Presso looks industrial with its upright stance and high bonnet line with some sporty touches. All this is highlighted by black bumpers, flared wheel arches and side claddings with a good ground clearance of 180 mm. Sadly, it gets wheel covers instead of proper alloys. The front gets a slightly tweaked grille similar to what we see on the Vitara Brezza. The turn indicators are mounted on the front fenders. The rear, however, is austere with nothing much going on, except an inserted skid-plate design in the bumper.

Interior:- Inside of the car, Tata HBX will most likely receive a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will be mounted over the top of the dashboard. This will allow for an easy view, hence less distraction. Also, such set-up isn’t available in any of its competitors yet. The Tata HBX will benefit from a semi-digital instrument cluster. Though not confirmed, but it might share the same unit as seen on the Altroz premium hatchback. Besides everything above, the Tata HBX will also boast the best-in-class audio system from Harman. The system could use four speakers and four/two tweeters.

Maruti S-Presso interior l ooks are funky due to the coloured elements in the cabin such as coloured AC vents, inside of the C pillar and the surround of the SmartPlay audio system. SmartPlay System also offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Like other Maruti cars, the S-Presso’s fabric seats are comfortable and supportive. There is power steering, front power windows and manual air conditioning. The centre stage of the dashboard is taken by an instrument cluster which sits above the SmartPlay system. The AC controls and the steering wheel has been borrowed from the WagonR while ORVMs are only been manually adjustable.
