Costa Coffee, being the second largest coffee shop chain in world, has spread across the 35 countries. The company was founded by Sergio and Bruno Costa in 1971, the Italian coffee producers. It opened first store in London. Later, it was purchased by Whitbread plc in 1995. Since then, it has opened around 1700 stores in the world. It remains a sub-branch of Whitbread till now.

In India, the Costa Coffee opened its branch in 2005. Since then, it has expanded over to 10 cities with nearly 36 stores. The detailed list of the cities and stores is as follows:
