Ducati 1299 Superleggera Overview :- The Ducati 1299 Superleggera has made its debut at EICMA 2016. The bike is the India’s most expensive bike currently on sale. The company has launched in the country for the price of Rs. 1,12,20,000 (Last Know Price Ex-showroom, New Delhi). The Ducati 1299 Superleggera may not look much different than a regular 1299 Panigale in the first look but its 167 kg of weight and 215 HP can claim it the sole winner of nearly every competitors. The Ducati 1299 Superleggera is the world’s lightest mass-produced bike with the most powerful Superquadro: L-twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled 1285 cc engine. The bike uses carbon fibre in its construction except for the engine such as monocoque frame, swingarm and wheels made of the ultra-strong and light material. The frame uses carbon fibre with aluminium alloy inserts even screws are made of titanium and all of it helps keep the kerb weight of the bike at 167 kg. It comes with a complete package of Ducati electronics which includes the Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Ducati Data Analyser (DDA). The bike further gets upgraded on power with the race kit version that adds a titanium Akrapovic race exhaust, race screen, plate holder removal kit, kickstand removal kit, billet mirror plugs, front and rear paddock stands and a bike cover. During EICMA 2016, the company said that only 500 units of the 1299 Superleggera will be ever be made however, the company has not disclosed the number of units allotted for India.

Ducati 1299 Superleggera Specifications :- The Pbike is powered by a Superquadro L-twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled engine which cna deliver Maximum Power of 215 HP @ 11,000 rpm and Maximum Torque of 146.5 NM @ 9,000 rpm while there is a race kit version that further pushes the output to 220 bhp and 147Nm of peak torque. The breaking system is taken care by 2 x 330 mm semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo Monobloc Evo M50 4-piston callipers with Cornering ABS, Brembo MCS 19-21 adjustable-ratio front brake master cylinder, remote lever adjuster at front and 245 mm disc, 2-piston calliper with Cornering ABS at rear. The front suspension is of fully adjustable 43mm USD Öhlins FL 936 fork and rear suspension is of fully adjustable single Öhlins TTX36 shock type. The bike comes with six speed gear box and hydraulically controlled slipper/self-servo wet multiplate type clutch. The fuel tank capacity is of 17 litres and weight around 167 kg.
