Important Tips for Healthy and Glowing Skin

“And like flowers in the fields, that make wonderful views, when we stand side-by-side in our wonderful hues.
We all make a beauty so wonderfully true.
We are special and different, and just the same, too!
So whenever you look at your beautiful skin, from your wiggling toes to your giggling grin…
Think how lucky you are that the skin you live in, so beautifully holds the “You” who’s within.” These beautiful lines can give a true meaning to you if someone helps you get the healthy glowing skin. Well, the goal of this article is to help you get it. Explore tips to get clear, radiant skin you have always wanted.

  • Drink up

Aim to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day. The water will clear your skin and make it glow because it makes it easier for your body to flush out toxins quickly. Drink herbal tea or other non-caffeinated beverages to hydrate when you’re tired of water. It assists in transporting nutrients and oxygen to skin cells, and preventing dehydration, which can cause premature aging

  • Eat a healthy diet

Healthy proteins and nutritious fruits and vegetables go a long way toward making skin glow. Add these elements to your diet to see quick results:

–         Omega 3 fatty acids: These are found in fish and walnuts, and are especially beneficial to your skin.

–         Vitamin C: This will help existing pimples heal faster, so eating a few servings of citrus fruits and spinach will help.

–         Fiber-rich foods: Fresh vegetables, nuts, and unprocessed fruit help a lot in getting glowing skin. Stick to high-water content vegetables that are easier to digest, such as lettuce, carrot, cucumber.

–         Some fruits that helps in getting the perfect glowing skin are:

Banana:  The effect of banana on skin too is not something that can be ignored. Bananas are rich in vitamin A, B and E and hence work as an anti-aging agent. A fresh mashed banana facial can do wonders for your skin.
Lemon With its vitamin C content, its juice will keep your skin beautiful. A glass of warm water with a tsp of honey and a dash of lemon juice on an empty stomach every morning is a great skin cleanser.
Orange: Rich in vitamin C that improves skin texture. Like apple, orange too contains collagen that slows skin aging process. Rub the insides of orange on your skin to tighten the skin. Oranges can be dried and powdered and used as a natural scrub. Like lemon, oranges too help clear skin blemishes.
Papaya: The benefits of this fruit on skin have perhaps been talked about since the time of our ancestors. Papaya is rich in antioxidants and contains a special enzyme that can kill dead cells and cure skin impurities. A glass of papaya milk or just applying the flesh of papaya on your skin can do wonders to your skin.
Mango: Rightly called the king of fruits for not just its taste but also for health benefits. The soft pulpy fruit has an amazing effect on skin too. Rich in vitamin-A and rich antioxidants, it fights against skin aging, regenerates skin cells and restores the elasticity of skin.

  • Work out

Cardio makes your skin glow because it stimulates blood flow. It’s also healthy for your body and will make you stronger. You’ll see results immediately and long term, too.

  • Exfoliate once a week

If your skin tends to be dry and flaky, a weekly exfoliation can clear out dead skin cells. Find an exfoliant that has a super fine grain, and don’t rub it roughly into your skin, use light pressure and gentle motions.

  • Protect your skin from the sun

Avoid leathery, tough skin by applying a light sunscreen every time you plan to be outside. The lack of sun damage will keep your skin dewy and supple for years to come. Remember, it only takes 15 minutes to get sunburn, so be prepared.

  • Strip off your makeup before bed

Leaving makeup and dirt on skin doesn’t just clog pores; it can cause excessive dryness and even skin dandruff. Most makeup contains a sugar-type molecule that can grow yeast overnight.

  • Don’t wait to moisturize

Most creams and lotions have key ingredients that create a protective barrier on the surface of the skin to lock in moisture, but because skin cools itself by evaporating water, you only have a few minutes before that hydration is gone forever. Slather on a moisturizer with natural silicone, while your face is still damp.

  • Breathe In and Release

High levels of emotional and mental stress are one of the major reasons of unhealthy skin. Meditation and breathing can be very effective stress busters that you might want to consider.

  •  Good Sleep

Sound sleep is very essential for healthy skin and body. While we sleep, our body repairs the damaged cells and replenishes the old ones. Thus our body requires at least 8 hours of sleep daily. This will give a healthy and glowing skin along with a refreshed mind.

The bottom line: The key to gorgeous skin turns out to be a mix of science, common sense, overall good health habits, and a simple stick-to-it skincare regimen.
