The Indian Scout is a motorcycle built by the Indian Motocycle Company from 1920 to 1949. It rivaled the Chief as Indian’s most important model. The 101 Scout, made from 1928 to 1931, has been called the best motorcycle Indian ever made. A second line of Scouts, with lighter frames and reduced engine displacement, was introduced in 1932 alongside the Standard Scout, which replaced the 101 Scout and shared its frame with the Chief and the Four. The small-displacement Scout and the Sport Scout, introduced in 1934, were continued until the end of civilian production in 1942. Military versions of both models were used by US and other Allied forces during World War II.
Indian Scout Overview : The original Scout was launched way back in 1920 as one of Indian’s most important models. Since then, the iconic motorcycle brand has introduced a range of upgraded models based on the standard Scout. There was the 101 Scout which was followed by the Sport Scout, both representing racier side of the motorcycle. Now in 2014, Indian has the all-new Scout which re-establishes its forerunner’s legacy.

The new Scout introduces Indian’s first-ever liquid-cooled engine. Producing 100bhp of power and a healthy 97Nm of torque, the new liquid cooled V-twin engine promises to offer an unmatched riding experience thanks to its electronic fuel injection, counter-balancing and a 6-speed gearbox. Indian says the bike’s lightweight chassis enhances the manoeuvrability and fun factor for daily riding.
