Kc Cariappa a little known spinner from Karnataka an under 19 player got his first share of limelight as a cricketer when he was part of bidding war between Delhi Daredevils and KKR at IPL 8 auction held on 16TH February 2015. The base price of Cariappa was Rs10 lakhs as was finally purchased by KKR for astonishing 2.4 crores.
KKR the two time reining champions are always in pursuit of getting unorthodox players in their team as earlier they have purchased Sunil Narine and Senanayake.
KC Cariappa has a similar kind of action to Sunil Narine and similar to him bowls with different kinds of unorthodox deliveries which includes a leg spin , Orthodox googly, sharp spinning carom ball and recently he is been working on off spin.
Cariappa a local 20 year lad first started bowling with tennis ball and then later on shifted to leather ball. He also played local T 20 league in 2014-15 where he represented Bulls and played 6 matches and took 11 wickets in the tournament with less then a 6 per over economy rate. His major scalp of the tournament was manish pandey where he first bamboozled him with is trickery then took his wicket.
