Kia has launched the Kia Carens in India with prices starting at Rs. 8.99 lakh. The Carens is the fourth new launch from Kia and it is called the RV where it is a combination of an MPV and an SUV. Kia has launched the Cars with five trim levels namely Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus. Talking about the engine, three engine options are going to be available in it. The Carens will be manufactured at the Kia plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Designed for the modern Indian household, the Kia Carens is a comfortable and spacious three-row SUV with the longest wheelbase in its segment. For the first time in India, the Hi-Secure Safety Package is offered as a standard feature across all trims of the car, which includes six airbags, making it one of the safest vehicles in India. The Kia Carens is also a connected car that comes with many leading features in its class. With this, it sets new standards in the industry.

The company has so far received 19,089 bookings for the car in just one month since the bookings started from January 14, 2022. Apart from the exciting price tag, the Carens also offers a minimum maintenance cost of 37 paise per kilometer, according to the company. The company continues to personalize the vehicle servicing process for its customers and offers competitive maintenance cost across all its models in the country.

Kia Carens – Engine Specifications

The first is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that generates power of 115hp and comes mated to a 6-speed manual. This is followed by 1.4 liter turbo petrol which generates 140hp power and 242Nm torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. There is also a 1.5-litre diesel engine with the Carence that generates 115hp power and 250Nm torque. It comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Talking about mileage, the company claims that it gives mileage of up to 21.3 kmpl in one liter of diesel.

Kia Carens – Exterior & Interior Design

On the design front, Kia got all the high-end comforts and convenience features to the Carens MPV. In fact, the interior and dashboard layout could be similar to the Seltos. There’s also a strong character line that starts from the headlamps, blends into the doors and then again emerges at the rear to meet the tail lamps. The Carens also gets body cladding over the wheel arches and along the length of the doors.

At the rear, the Carens gets a pair of wraparound LED tail lamps that are connected via a slim LED strip. The rear windshield is slightly raked and also features an integrated spoiler. The tailgate is upright and just like the front, an aggressively styled bumper with silver inserts rounds off the look.
