Kia, a Korean car manufacturing company is going to launch updated Kia Sorento SUV in the international market and it could also come after a few months as well in the Indian market. The Kia motors already got very successful in a very short period by the launch of Kia Seltos SUV which is dominating the SUV segment completely. Now the company is also thinking to expand its car range to cover more car segments. However, the company not confirmed any details about for Sorento to come in India, but could be possible which will become completely CKD route. The new model was scheduled to make global debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show; however, the event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a reminder, Kia had showcased the previous-generation Sorento at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. The upcoming Sorento possible to come with both 5 and 7 seat option. The SUV will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V, VW Taigun, Ford Endeavour and the Mahindra Alturas G4.

Kia Sorento SUV – Engine Specifications

The new-gen Kia Sorento is available with multiple engine options in the global market, but for the Indian market, we expect two engine options will be made available. First with a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor producing 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. Another one gets a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which capable of producing 199bhp of power and 440Nm of torque. Instead of the 8-speed torque converter, the Sorento gets an 8-speed wet-plate DCT.

The 2021 Kia Sorento now has family design, which we have already seen on the latest Kia products including the Seltos. Upfront is a prominent signature ‘Tiger Nose’ grille with integrated full-LED headlamps, aggressive bumper and silver treatment all around the front. The SUV gets floating roof, diamond-cut alloys and dual-tone wing mirrors. At the back, the 2021 Kia Sorento gets all-LED tail-lamps, roof-integrated spoiler and dual-tone bumper. Inside of the Car, The interior of the new-gen Kia Sorento shares a lot of features and advanced technologies from the bigger Telluride. Some of the features include Mood Lighting system, wireless smartphone charger, a 12-speaker Bose surround-sound system, automatic climate control, UVO Connect telematics system, charging points for a second and third row of seats, heads-up display, etc.
