Mahindra has finally launched the XUV300 in India and it is priced from Rs. 7.90-11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Mahindra XUV300 is based on the SsangYong Tivoli’s X100 platform, which has been modified and altered to fit within the crucial sub-four-metre length. That said, the XUV300 is still the widest compact SUV on sale and also has the longest wheelbase in its class. Bookings were already open across dealerships for a token amount of Rs 11,000/-. The XUV300 is the latest arrival in the sub 4-metre compact SUV segment and it rivals the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon. The compact SUV segment is getting popular rapidly in India with Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 16 lakhs price bracket. Obviously, everyone wants in on the action with the latest player being Mahindra, who introduced this car that you see in the pictures- the XUV300.

Mahindra XUV300 – Exterior:
The exterior styling of the Mahindra XUV300 is looks very aggressive, based on the Cheetah design, earlier experienced with its big brother, the XUV500. It inherits the front extended bumper DRL which sort of joins the projector headlamps to the fog lamps, and the rear blacked out floating roof. The front and rear gets skid plates in a contrasting colour and the vehicle is offered in dual tone colour schemes too. The face is dominated by heavy doses of chrome. It’s in the signature Mahindra six-slat grille, bumpers and there is even some in the head lamps assembly but it is not overly done. The design at the back can summed up in one word- Butch. Mahindra has put in chunky elements to beef up the appearance of the car. It gets beautiful machine-cut 17-inch alloy wheels in the top spec version and black body side cladding comes standard.
Mahindra XUV300 – Interior:
The Mahindra XUV300 gets the top-of-its-class interior in terms of features. There is not much detailing in the dual tone cabin and it feels rough like a traditional Mahindra vehicle, but practical enough. The steering wheel is perfect in size and gets major controls, including cruise control. It even gets a dual zone climate control which is not available in any other car in the segment. The sitting position is the cherry on the cake and provides a commanding view of the road out front. The compact SUV gets the longest wheelbase in its segment and provides ample space for its passengers. However, the rear seats do lack some cushioning and could have been better. There are lots of storage spaces including a cooled glove box and the massive arm rest storage box.
