Maruti Alto 800 vs. Maruti Alto K10 – Appearance:

Obviously the new Alto 800 is the refined version of older Alto, wherein more space has been created by increasing its height along with width. It is quite sporty in its appearance with its redesigned headlamps, tail lamps and new structuring. The Alto 800 boasts of high mounted headlamps in petal design, two part front grill, trendy spoiler, wheel arches and crystal tail lamps. As far as its interiors are concerned, it features spacious cabin along with decent head and leg room. The Maruti has used quality plastic material to craft Alto 800 dashboard and central console, imparting it a sumptuous look.

On the contrary, the Alto K10 flaunts smart exteriors with redefined eagle eyed headlamps, decent grille, body coloured bumpers, side mirrors and door handles. Its interiors are refined and neatly contrived to offer comfort. All in all, the K10 has trendier interiors, fabric upholstery, trunk carpets, integrated seats and refreshed front console. If we talk about seating comfort, there is more shoulder room and headroom in the Alto 800 as compared to the K10. The K10 has comfortable front seats and a low-slung driving position, while the Alto 800 has a more upright stance.

Maruti Alto 800 vs. Maruti Alto K10 – Performance:

In terms of performance, the Alto K10 is backed by a 3-cylinder 1-litre engine that generates 67 Bhp of power and 90 Nm of torque, with a five-speed manual transmission. Since it is a light car, it has an excellent power-to-weight ratio. Whereas the newer Alto 800 sports the older 796 cc 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 47.5 Bhp of power and 69 Nm of torque. It has a five speed manual transmission with an improved gear shift. If we talk about mileage, the K10 offers mileage of more than 20 kmpl however the new 800 is also not behind with more or less same fuel efficiency.

Regarding comfort, the Alto 800 has a well sorted suspension like the K10 which is focused on comfort over handling prowess. It is a great hatchback for daily use, with its light steering and decent ground clearance. The Alto 800 is equipped with good brakes which provide sufficient stopping power. Talking about the K10, it is a comfortable car with low seats and balanced suspension. Its electronic power steering is very light which makes it convenient to drive in the city.

Maruti Alto 800 vs. Maruti Alto K10 – Verdict:

Both Alto 800 and Alto K10 are quite similar in their features, except that K10 comes with a tachometer, front fog lamps and central locking while the Alto 800 has a provision of driver’s airbag. The K10 has a little extra on features alone but the Alto 800 provides better passenger comfort. The new Alto 800 is also better in terms of designing and interiors along with improved engine performance. Definitely when compared with the K10, the Maruti Alto 800 is a better choice to make due to its price together with comfort and performance.
