Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch its next-gen XUV500 with a 7-seater avatar in the coming next few months possibly. The car has also been spotted while testing on pune road and it’s assumed on the final stage. The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will come equipped with a factory-fitted panoramic sunroof, which was missing in the previous model. The outgoing model offers a smaller sunroof. The new model will have a panoramic sunroof, which covers the complete roof. Production of the SUV is likely to commence soon. Bookings for the new XUV500 is expected to begin in March 2021. The new XUV500 will also receive segment-first Level 2 Autonomous Driving Assist Systems (ADAS). It will have features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, etc. According to fresh media reports, The new XUV500 will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the new-gen Thar. However, this engine will be tuned to produce up to 190bhp of power and over 350Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel version will receive a new 2.2-litre turbocharged unit that will produce around 180bhp of power. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Visually, from the front, the new XUV500 features a more upright new grille, there is a pair of interesting ridges on the bonnet and it also gets attention-grabbing C-shaped headlamps and DRLs. Moving on to the side, the odd, side-hinged, flap-type door handles have been done away with. They are replaced with flush-mounted levers that give the design a more modern look. At the back, the tailgate seems to be simpler and less fussy, and Mahindra has used horizontal lines to make it look wider in the rear too. Inside of the Car, The cabin of the new 2021 Mahindra XUV500 is also likely to share the dashboard design with the Funster concept, though the production model will have less flashy material. It will have fully-digital instrument console, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, powered seats and many more.
