Nissan Evalia (Discontinued):

Nissan India unveiled the ‘Evalia’ in India at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi.Nissan Evalia is a proper seven-seater multi-utility vehicle and will compete against the likes of Toyota Innova, Tata Aria, Chevrolet enjoy , Nissan Evalia has commercial van-type designing with sliding doors to access the rear seats.. Nissan has kept the design very neat and simple. The Nissan Evalia is designed for perfection. Ample amount of cargo space, first-class functionality and the latest automotive technology make it stand apart from the crowd. Nissan exhibits a high performance on the road with its excellent diesel engine option.  Nissan claims Evalia to be the most fuel efficient car in its segment. As per ARAI certification, it manages to return 19km/ltr. When tested the car returns a mileage of around 13-15km/ltr in city conditions while on highways you can expect anything around 15-17km/ltr. There are two reasons which undoubtedly make it the most fuel efficient car in its segment. First it’s lightweight due to its monocoque design which is very lighter in comparison to its competitors as it weighs around 1.4 tonnes and secondly it’s relatively taller gear ratios. The familiar Renault’s 1.5 K9K common rail diesel engine powers this car. The maximum power produced by this engine is of 85 bhp which comes at 3750 rpm. It churns out a maximum torque output 200 Nm available at 2000 rpm. Nissan is already using this engine in its Micra and Sunny. This diesel unit is specially tuned for Indian Evalia. It’s mated with 5-speed manual gearbox. But this engine is less powerful than most of its competitors.

Toyota Innova Crysta:

It  is a compact MPV (Multi-purpose vehicle) that has dimensions of 4735 mm(length), 1830 mm(width), 1795 mm(height) . It is available in Indian market in sixteen variants that supports diesel and petrol as fuel. The fuel tank capacity of Innova is 55 litres with kerb weight of 1805 kg (G MT Diesel) and gross weight of 2430 kg. Innova Crysta’s super aerodynamics gives the car better performance and mileage. The Innova Crysta now carries three engines 2.4 litres and 2.8 litres diesel engine and a 2.7 litres dual VVT-i petrol engine. The 2.4 litres diesel engine produces maximum power of 147.8 Bhp at 3400 rpm with torque generated is 343 Nm between 1400-2800 rpm. The 2.8 litres diesel engine produces maximum power of 171.5 Bhp at 3400 rpm with torque generated is 360 Nm between 1200-3400 rpm. The 2.7 litres petrol engine produces maximum power of 163.7 Bhp at 5200 rpm with torque generated is 245 Nm between 4000 rpm. The engine uses (CRDi) common rail direct injection fuel system that allows the average mileage of 15 kmpl on highways and 11 kmpl in the city. Innova Crysta has 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.

Chevrolet Enjoy:

It  is a multi-utility vehicle that follows ‘MPV Concept’ and was introduced to Indian market by Chevrolet India at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi. Its basic Diesel model comes with a price tag of INR 5.99 lakhs and the top Diesel model is priced at INR 7.3 lakhs. The diesel model is equipped with a 1.3 litres engine that generates maximum power of 73.74 Bhp at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 172.5 Nm at 1750 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Chevrolet Enjoy claims to provide a mileage of 18 kmpl in diesel model which means it can provide around 16 kmpl on highways and around 10 kmpl in the cities. The diesel version takes 21.36 seconds to speed above 100 kmph mark and because of its high torque; the pick-up is very good in first and second gear.

MPVs are known for their space and Evalia is very spacious and offers enough comfort. Evalia is very economical in terms of fuel efficiency. But Nissan Evalia looks much like a van with sliding doors which makes it look like a typical MPV. Its competitor Toyota Innova on the other hand look like any other city car which is more acceptable by family buyers. Even its engine is less powerful as compared to others. There are relatively less features in Evalia when compared to its competitors. It will be hard for Evalia to get the trusted buyers of Innova which is better than it in almost every department.

Toyota Innova Crysta is surely a good car with easy handling, reliable and powerful engine. It serves many purposes with providing optimum comfort with no compromise on quality like others. It is fuel efficient as well as low on maintenance which makes it distinctive in its segment. Everything is perfect about this car; except its price plays a deterrant factor  in case of innova Crysta as it is priced much above than its competitors.

Enjoy ranges from Rs 6.11 – 7.08 lakhs (Price After GST Ex-Showroom New Delhi). Undoubtedly, the pricing of Enjoy proves to be its biggest USP and it will surely give a tough competition to its only rival, Ertiga. Yes, it’s not as stylish and quick as Evalia or Innova  but it offers more space and feels equally powerful with its diesel engine. Enjoy is certainly an economical option as it’s cheaper than Evalia or Innova by a big margin. So  Enjoy is a complete value for money car.
