The 2019 Nissan Kicks has been launched in India, with a starting price of Rs. 9.55 lakhs.

As we reported you earlier Nissan has finally launched the Kicks compact SUV in India. This SUV is brought in as a replacement to the Terrano. It is available in 4 diesel variants and 2 petrol variants and is priced from Rs. 9.55 – 14.65 lakhs (ex-showroom). All variants got seven exterior paint options, though only the XV Premium + has dual-tone paint schemes as an extra. It is based on the same BO platform as the Renault Capture. The Nissan Kicks is the company’s first all-new car since Terrano. Engines  on offer include a 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units. It also features a segment-first 360 degree view camera. Nissan all set to go up against Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki S-cross and Renault Capture which are ruling the SUV segment in the Market. The all new Kicks is offered in a total of four Variants: XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium+ with diesel engines. Meanwhile, the Petrol version is offered only is base XL and XV trims.

Nissan Kicks Specifications:

The 1.5-litre K9K diesel powertrain develops 110 PS at 3,850 rpm and 240 Nm at 1,750 rpm and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The 1.5-litre H4K petrol that can also be found in the Terrano makes 106 PS at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of peak torque delivered at 4,000 rpm and is connected to only a five-speed gearbox. Nissan may introduce automatic transmission at a later period. ARAI-rated fuel efficiency figures are as follows: 14.23kpl for the petrol-MT, 20.45kpl for the base diesel-MT and 19.39kpl for the higher-spec diesel variants.

Even as  Nissan looks to heat up the competition in the compact SUV segment with the Kicks, it has more crossover-like looks than an outright SUV. However, with its competitive pricing and bucket load of features as standard, the Kicks fits in the segment as a fresh alternative to conventional players such as the Hyundai Creta and Maruti S-Cross. The Kicks is longer, wider and has 83 mm longer wheelbase than the Creta while the ground clearance is at 210 mm (20 mm more than Creta). With a three-year warranty, three-year RSA and three-year maintenance at zero additional cost, Nissan has armed the New Kicks with all the tools to take on its competition.
