Some of the popular nightlife places in Pune are Hard Rock Cafe, Ten Downing Street Nightclub, 1000 Oaks Pub, Area 51, Aqua Lounge, Kiva Lounge, High Spirits, Apache, Scream at Le-Meridien Hotel, Shisha Cafe and Atrium – The Hi-Spirited Bar.
Let’s have a look at some of these high adrenaline venues:
Kue bar (KoregaonPark)
The Kue Bar is loosely inspired by Cuba, including a mural at the entrance by street artists from Havana, and focuses on quality cocktails with a Latin American touch. Punters tend to hang out in small groups in the open-air section of the bar, which is furnished with high tables, comfy sofas, trippy lamps and lanterns. The crowd is usually almost evenly split between the sexes, and on the night we went, we saw Pune’s party people pulling into the venue in both SUVs and rickshaws, Democratic and cool!
Its theme night Stiletto Senorita every Wednesday allows free entry to women, along with unlimited shots throughout the night. Other theme nights like the Fashion Fridays and Super Packed Saturdays are packed too.
The High spirits café (KoregaonPark)
A good hangout place with live bands performing frequently, lively place where you will see loads of youngsters enjoying themselves. The decor is quiet creative and the lawn area is good where most of bands perform. Dj plays good music or otherwise also. However the place becomes little cranked up if huge crowd drops in. But its still fun, the food and drinks are pretty good here, it is value for money.
Hard Rock café (KoregaonPark)
This place is amazing with Classic Memorabilia of Rock legends hanging on every wall. You can attend live gigs on every Thursdays , sports events with amazing music, move your hands and legs to the famous YMCA anthem and sometimes chorus for ‘Summer of 69′. The service you get at HRC will be the most interesting part of your night there…You will never find lack of zeal in any of the waiters- Just love the way they serve food with interest.
Mi-A-Mi (J W Marriot, senapati bapat road)
This one is the most happening night spot in Pune right now. The place is full of energy and whole atmosphere is electric and you are bound to have some great time here. Though its a bit on expensive side as per Pune standards but it’s worth every penny. The bar is very beautiful. The crowd and service both are brilliant, indeed a must visit destination in Pune.
Sheesha Jazz Café (KoregaonPark)
The ambience is special… surrounded by plants and casual seating… it’s almost like you are in a garden removed from the world. The beautiful Shishas which are no longer in use are used to make the place charming and old world. Posters of jazz artists on stage walls add a special touch. The evening mostly intensifies with the musical performances of artists. The menu consists of Indian, Iranian and continental favorites.
Stone Water Grill (KoregaonPark)
They have a lot of variety in rotis, nans and kulchas. The starters and the Tequila shots are something to die for here….Excellent service, food ordered, doesn’t take too long to arrive. There are several things that are done to make you feel special, for example the Arabian Nights themed bar section just stands out.
1000 Oaks (KoregaonPark)
This bar seems to have been around since ages. Any Puneite feels just a little bit nostalgic at the mention of 1000 Oaks. The pub is as classic as it gets, be it the décor or the music. Its rose-flavored Barman’s Pitcher, which comprises numerous spirits and beverages, from to gin to vodka, rum and more, is particularly divine. The food, predominantly North Indian, is decent too. The music here is mostly cheesy retro stuff, including hits of relics like Bryan Adams, which never really gets old and always sounds a lot better once you’re a few drinks down.
Area – 51 (Baner road)
One of the coolest places in Pune, it’s a place where you can just get lost in the crowd and relax yourself. If you love to dance, be sure to put your best foot forward as the dance floor revolves. The snacks are nicely made and the drinks are awesome. The card system makes it quick and easy to pay yet still you may find yourself standing in the queue for 5-10 minutes at the bar. But, this surely isn’t a big deal considering the atmosphere, the crowd and the ambience.
