The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X has been launched with dual-channel ABS at Rs 2.13 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It commands a premium of around Rs 15,000 over the non-ABS variant. The Thunderbird 500X is the newest addition to the Thunderbird family. Notable features include a bright paint job with blacked-out components like the engine, headlight, twin-pod instrument console, alloy wheels, exhaust, front fork stanchions, and black grab rail. The new Thunderbird 500X ABS continues to draw power from the 499cc air-cooled, Twin-spark, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine from the Thunderbird 500. Mated to a 5-speed transmission, the bike produces 27.57PS of power and a peak torque of 41.3Nm at 4,000rpm. There are 41mm telescopic forks at the front and 5-step adjustable preload twin gas-charged shocks at the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by the 280mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes.
