Tata Tigor Overview

The Tata Tigor is the second compact sedan in the Indian carmaker’s lineup and sits below the Tata Zest. Built on the Tata Tiago platform, the Tigor was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi as the Kite 5 Concept. The Tata Tigor has been built with the HorizonNext design ideology and is an important product on Tata’s road to revival. Tata Tigor is offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. Tata has termed the Tigor as ‘Styleback’ and it comes with the best-in-segment boot capacity of 419 litre.

Tata Tigor Exterior

Tata Tigor is the third company product to be based on the IMPACT design language after the Tiago and Hexa. Tata Tigor exterior styling is quite identical to the Tiago hatch with the front fascia flaunting projector headlamps, ‘Humanity’ chrome grille and chrome garnish on the front fog lamp bezel. In addition, there are body-coloured bumpers, outside door handles and outside rear view mirrors to make it more desirable. The sedan rides on alloy wheels, while there are also LED turn indicators on the ORVMs. Speaking of the rear end, the Tigor gets a signature split LED tail lamp cluster, high-mounted LED stop lamp and a rear defogger.

The Tata Tigor gets the same swanky cabin from the Tiago hatchback right down to the layout of the instrument cluster. Design elements include a grey and black dashboard with grey seats, body-coloured inserts for the AC vents, 2-DIN music system, climate control and steering mounted audio controls. While automatic climate control is only reserved for the top-spec XZ(O) trim, the rear power windows and music system start form the second-to-base XT trims. For safety, it gets ABS with EBD and cornering control from the XT trim and dual front airbags on the XZ trims.
