Honda had told earlier that it would be riding two new scooters by the end of 2017, and has launched one among them, the CLIQ. Not a regular looking scooter, the Honda CLIQ comes priced at Rs. 42,499/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in Rajasthan only with pan India availability said to happen by this festive season. The all new Honda Cliq was showcased as a design concept at the Auto Expo 2016 alongside the Navi
The all new Honda Cliq comes powered with the company’s HET engine that displaces 110cc and makes 8bhp@7,000rpm with a peak torque of 8.96Nm@5,500rpm. It will come with tubeless tyres as well. However the telescopic front forks are replaced with the spring loaded hydraulic unit found in the Activa.
Honda had showcased multiple design concepts at the Auto Expo 2016 and the Cliq is a mix of both. Gone are the flashy panels and in comes utilitarian body work. The scooter gets a body mounted headlamp like the Dio with individual indicator lamps. The handlebar is much like a motorcycle. The instrument panel is comprehensive as well. The floor board is kept flat to offer more foot space for the rider. The large seat has space for two and underneath there is a storage bin. Honda has also thrown in a mobile charger for more convenience. Behind the seat there is also a carrier which adds to the utility which is the overall theme of this product.
The all new Honda Cliq comes equipped with CBS and Equalizer technology. There is an underseat storage bin which also accommodates a mobile charger. Moreover, the new Cliq also comes with a special Block Pattern tires for that extra grip on patchy roads, which makes it an industry and segment first.
The all new Honda Cliq will be pitted against the likes of Hero Pleasure, TVS Scooty Zest, Yamaha Alpha and Suzuki Let’s in India.
