Toyota Etios Cross Overview

Toyota India has extended its arsenal of products by introducing the all Etios Cross in the Indian auto industry. Basically, nothing more, but a more rugged and sturdy version of company’s existing hatchback Liva; Etios Cross seems to be crossover. The Japanese auto-maker has incorporated several SUV elements in this crossover to make it rough, striking and swashbuckling. Being offered with petrol and diesel guises, the crossover in-houses three different engines – a 1.2L petrol, a 1.5L petrol and a 1.4L diesel. 

Toyota Etios Cross Specifications

The Toyota Etios Cross have Two petrols and a diesel – all paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The smaller petrol engine is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder unit and develops 80PS of maximum power and 104Nm of torque and has a claimed mileage of 18.16kmpl. The larger 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol develops 90PS of maximum power and 132Nm of peak torque and has a claimed mileage of 16.78kmpl. The lone 1.4-litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine for the Etios Cross develops 68PS of power and 170Nm of torque and returns a claimed 23.59kmpl.

The Etios Cross gets a large matte silver grille/bull bar paired with a silver skid plate to give its face an imposing look. Visual bulk has been added to the car with plastic claddings placed along the car’s length, and matte black bumpers with faux skid plates. A set of matte silver roof rails and ORVM covers, silver side skirt highlights and 15-inch ‘diamond-cut’ alloy wheels complete the macho and sporty styling of the Etios Cross.

The Toyota Etios Cross is not different from the Etios sedan when it comes to the interiors. This five seater hatchback offers sufficient leg space and headroom despite having a short wheelbase. It has wide cushioned seats with sporty fabric upholstery covers. The cockpit of Cross has stylish dashboard equipped with a three spoke electric steering wheel, AC vents, glove box and a centre console integrated with remote operated 2-DIN stereo system. In addition, the Etios Cross features a handful of notifying instruments like tachometer with door open indicator, digital trip meter, headlight-on, driver seat belt warning and low fuel consumption.
