TVS company already showcased their premium scooter concept in 2018 Auto Expo by the name of ‘Creon’. TVS is entering the electric two-wheeler segment by launching TVS Creon next year. The Creon is laced-up with triple lithium-ion batteries and an a electric motor of 12 KW. It will offers a impressing riding range of 80 kms on a single charge as per TVS’s claims. It can do also a top speed of 60 kmph in just 5.1 seconds. It took barely an hour to charge up to 80%. The price of Creon is yet to announce but we expecting it will be around Rs 1 Lakhs and it will competes likes of Ather 450.

2. Twenty Two Flow

Twenty Two Motors launched their first electric scooter at the venue of 2018 Auto Expo Ex-showroom price of Rs. 74,740. However, deliveries for the scooter will start from September 2019. Flow can go a consistent range of 160 km in a single change and can achieve a top speed of 60 kmph. It has AI controlled features for vehicle tracking. Following its partnership with Kymco, Twenty Two Motors announced that the Flow was scheduled for an early 2019 launch, it remains to be how the final product will be Priced.

3. Honda Electric PCX

Showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, the Honda PCX electric and PCX Hybrid scooters will soon launch in India. The PCX comes with the design language of its petrol counterpart. Minor updates include an LED lighting at the front as well as the rear and full-digital instrument console. The scooter will feature Honda’s own electric motor with two detachable battery packs termed ‘Honda Mobile Power Pack’ under the seat for an enhanced range. The detachable batteries will provide both the options to the user, that of swapping the batteries or charging them at a desktop station.

Honda can do travel of 100 kms in single charge and go up-to top speed of 95 kmph. Honda PCX is expected to be priced at around Rs. 85,000 and will be launched by the end of 2019. Honda Electric PCX is already available in international market.

Emflux Motor already showcased their first electric super-bike in Auto Expo 2018. Emflux Motors is a Bengaluru based start-up. Emflux model1 has been confirmed for an official launch in India. It is powered by a 64kw electric motor that is capable of producing 80bhp of power and 84Nm of torque. This superbike features a Lithium-ion battery, which is sourced from Samsung and it has a capacity of 9.7kWh. The superbike can go a fabulous range of 200 km and can achieve 0-100 kmph in just 3 seconds. The company will officially launch the motorcycle in 2019.

Being a biggest two-wheeler manufacturer company in India “Hero” also moving to electric vehicles. Hero has all set to launch Hero’s first electric scooter Hero Duet-E in India. It was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo as a concept model. Hero Duet-E will be based on the standard Duet and will share its design and suspension with it. The Hero Duet E is expected to be launched by end of this year. The scooter expected to be powered by an 5KV DC electric motor that will generates about 6.7 hp and 14 Nm of torque, which is capable of a 70 kms range on a single charge. The scooter can accelerate from 0-60 kmph in 6.5 seconds.

6. PURE ePluto

IIT Hyderabad based start-up PuREnergy company announced the launch of its electric scooter PURE ePluto in India. The start-up also manufactures high performance Lithium batteries. Launching with four models – Egnite, Etrance, Epluto and Etron PuRE Energy looks to deploy ove 10,000 electric vehicles on road by the end of next financial year. The ePluto scooter is packed by a 2kWh lithium-ion battery and promises a range of 100 km on a single charge. Available at a price of Rs 74,999 the ePluto comes at the flagship offering by the company and will be available in select Indian cities for now.

7. Hero Leap

First showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo as a concept, expected to be launched in soon in India, is could be a game changer in the two-wheeler market in the country. The Leap is likely to be powered by lithium-ion batteries, an 8kW electric Permanent magnet AC (PMAC) traction motor as well as a 124 cc engine. The electric Leap will have a 3-litre fuel tank capacity, a top speed of 100 kmph and can be charged by plugging into a wall outlet. The upcoming electric-hybrid scooter will get an all-LED lamp and Brembo two-piston front 240mm disc brake.

Genze is a US-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer owned by Mahindra that sells its products only in the US markets. The Mahindra & Mahindra GenZe electric scooter has been seen testing in Indian conditions. According to the GenZe website, the GenZe 2.0 can reach a speed of 50kph and has a riding range of up to 50km per charge. Push off is gradual in throttle mode to provide a smooth and steady ride experience. The GenZe is 100% electric two-wheeler that helps you stand out-not fit in. It can be charged from any 110-volt outlet.

9. Ampere Zeal

The another e-mobility subsidiary of Indian engineering company Greaves Cotton has announced its flagship product as the Zeal electric scooter. Since the electric scooter is powered by Lithium-ion batteries, buyers of the Zeal will be able to avail a subsidiary of Rs. 18,000 under the FAME-II guidelines, effectively bringing its price down to Rs. 69, 962 (ex-showroom, Delhi). With a Top With a top speed of 55 kmph and a claimed acceleration of 0-50kmph in 14 secs, the Ampere Zeal uses a 1,200 watts BLDC hub motor that is powered by a 60V/30Ah battery. In addition, the e-scooter comes with a range of 75 km on a charge time of 5.5 hours.

10. Ather S340

Bengaluru already witnessed India’s first electric smart scooter as Ather 450 in India, now Ather Energy considering to launch another smart scooter Ather S340. Ather 340 already selling in the market, company all set to launch another version of Ather 340 with S. The company unveiled the Ather S340 in 2016 at a technology conference in Bangalore. The Ather S340 is to be powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, helping the scooter attain a top speed of 72 km/h. The range is a projected 60 km. The battery is IP67 certified (dust-proof and waterproof). The company claims that the Ather S340 gets an in-house developed battery has a life cycle of 50,000 km and can be charged up to 80 percent in just 50 minutes using a fast charger.

Information yet to be revealed about their coming electric scooters but it is confirmed that vespa secretly under working the electric scooter segment. By our sources we have one information about upcoming Vespa electric scooter name, The Vespa Electrica. The Vespa Electrica was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo held in Febraury. It will be offered in two variants – the standard version with a 100 km range and the Elettrica X with over 200 km range. The Vespa Elettrica comes with an electric motor powered by a 4.2 kWh Lithium-ion battery that offers a maximum power of 4 kWh (5.4 bhp) and develops 200 Nm of peak torque. The Elettrica is powered by a lightweight lithium-ion battery and is good for 1000 cycles, which should see a life of between 50,000 and 70,000 km. The scooter has two riding modes as well – Eco and Power – with the Eco mode’s top speed being limited to just 30 kmph. The scooter could come to India by 2019.

Scooter segment in India has been seeing substantial increase in demand, especially in urban cities. However, one name missing from this league was Bajaj, but with its Urbanite electric scooter, we can expect that void to be filled soon. The scooter sports a retro-modern design, with curvy side panels and a wide front apron contrasted by contemporary multi-spoke alloy wheels. Bajaj Urbanite scooter also spotted testing on Indian roads. 13. Kymco EV

The joint-venture of Kymco and 22 Motors will be bringing their first product, Kymco EV to India Soon. Kymco already sells the Like EV in International markets. Coming to the specs, the like EV packs a brushless DC motor with puts out 3.2kW (4.3PS)of power. Powering the electric motor are two-lithium-ion batteries, one of which is swappable. The e-scooter tips the scale at 110kg. We expect the Kymco Like EV to be priced at around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric scooter sports a clean, neo-retro design and comes equipped with top-shelf features. These include a fully-digital instrument cluster with navigation, LED headlamp and the firm’s Ionex technology.

According to a report from ET Auto, Suzuki Motorcycle India’s managing director Santoshi Uchinda opines that the move will support the governments push towards electric vehicles, and its investment in the battery plant would go a long way in the road to electrification. Uchinda said, “The cost of electric scooter is still high when compared to the conventional scooters. Wer are currently studying as to how can we offer an electric scooter that is accessible and addresses the range issue. The details of upcoming Suzuki electric scooters range yet to be revealed, but they clearly indicate of their electric scooters for India by the end of 2020.

15. Blacksmith B2 Electric Bike

Chennai-based company Blacksmith is all set to launch its first all-electric motorcycle, the B2, in India next year. The electric motorcycle has reportedly been in the making for over a decade now, around 14 years to be precise. Back then when most of the bike makers hardly had a roadmap for electric mobility, Blacksmith had filed a patent for swappable batteries. Fast forward to 2019, we now have 22Kymco and Revolt who have entered this space with swappable battery technology.
