1. Volkswagen T-Roc

Volkswagen showcased the T-Roc at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007. Based on the ubiquitous MQB platform, T-Roc is Volkswagen’s baby SUV which received praise worthy responses from the global market. Now, it seems like Volkswagen is readying the SUV for the Indian market with a launch that is likely to happen next year. The Indian-spec T-Roc is likely to be offered with a choice of a 1.5-litre TSI EVO petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. It could get the option of a 6-speed manual along with the tried-and-tested 7-speed DSG gearbox as well. .

2. Volkswagen Polo Plus

Volkswagen launched the Polo in the Indian market in the year 2010. The Polo was Volkswagen’s first offering in the premium hatchback segment in India and ever since then the manufacturer has made timely updates to its appearance and the power train. Recently, Volkswagen launched the 2018 Polo and the vehicle made its global debut at an event in Berlin, Germany. By the demand of an makeover Polo will be look different in terms of exteriors. Polo takes its design cues from its elder sibling, the Golf, although its own identity is evident. The new hatchback has sporty lines and sharp creases all over, however, it still retained the essence of the Polo. .

 

3. Volkswagen T-Cross

Volkswagen had announced in 2015 that it would be introducing SUVs across its entire range within the next few years. Among these will be an SUV called the T-Cross. Volkswagen’s T-Cross is headed to India sometime in 2020-2021. VW will, however, customise the T-Cross for India and build it on a lower-cost version of the platform, known as MQB A0 IN. The sub-platform for India will not only be more affordable, it will be larger and more spacious on the inside, too. The T-Cross is expected to be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines in the capacity of 1.0-litre to 1.6-litre across both petrol and diesel options. A T-Cross hybrid is also in the pipeline. .

 

4. Volkswagen Next-generation Vento (Virtus)

Volkswagen is betting big on India and one of the cars that will central to its future plans will be this car, the Virtus. It’s going to be called next-generation Vento for the Indian market and will be launched once VW has its MQB A0-IN platform in place for the sub-continent, roughly around 2020. Volkswagen is expected to bring the Virtus to the India market after the T-Cross, which will launch in India after this year. The performance-oriented iteration of the Virtus comes with a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine which is good for 150 BHP of power output. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Whether the GTS iteration makes it to India remains to be seen.
