Volkswagen T-Roc – Overview

Volkswagen is on a spree to introduce an SUV in every segment that it is present in and the latest segment where it will make its appearance is the D-segment with the Golf based T-Roc crossover. This SUV will make its public debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Designed on the VW Group’s MQB modular platform, the Volkswagen T-Roc shares some of its design and styling cues with the Audi Q2; however, the latter one is sportier with a coupe-like roofline.

For India, the VW T-ROC SUV will offer a 2.0 L TDI Turbo Diesel engine that will come along with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The engine outputs a max. power of 184 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm.

Exterior

In terms of design, the new SUV looks a lot like the earlier concept, with an exterior styled to emphasise its on-road  and off-road character. VW boss Herbert Diess said that the new T-Roc would be “the new agility benchmark” in the class.

In profile, you can see the Golf lines thanks to the wraparound tail lamps and heavily flared wheel arches. However, the T-Roc gets a slightly different face to separate it from the Golf and at the same time, also gives it the VW SUV identity. Noticeable elements in the external design include silver coloured bash plates as well as three-slat grille which is the signature of the VW SUV identity.

Interior

Inside the car, Volkswagen T-Roc features 5 seats layout. The cabin will be put together using high quality materials and will come with a long list of features. Chances are the interior will get a floating-effect dashboard that will hold a fully-digital instrument panel and a 9.2-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.
