Volkswagen Group’s India arm is working to bring another new models to India under its India 2.0 strategy, name is Virtus. The Virtus going to be called next-generation Vento for the Indian market. Volkswagen is betting big on India and one of the cars that will central of its future plans will be this car. For those who don’t know, the Volkswagen Virtus sedan is a global replacement for the ageing Volkswagen Vento. The model is based on a modified MQB A0 platform, which will make its India debut on the Volkswagen T-Cross based SUV. The Virtus, however, will boost the new MQB-A0-IN platform. This is the same platform that also underpins the next generation VW Polo in India.
Volkswagen Virtus – Specifications:
Volkswagen Virtus will come with a range of engine options including both petrol and diesel units. On the petrol front, this mid-size sedan will likely have two motors like the current Volkswagen Vento. Volkswagen Virtus like to come with an 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre TSI petrol engines for petrol line-up. On diesel it will be come with 1.5-litre TDI Engine. All the three motors we have here are considerably modern units with a high performance and efficiency. Transmission options should include a 6-speed Manual and a 7-speed DSG Automatic.

Exterior
The upcoming Virtus sedan will share in plenty with all-new Polo hatchback. Exterior design compare to the Vento is very sharp and stylish. With the new MQB (AO) platform Virtus sedan is longer and wider than the Vento as well. Here the signature elements include a single slat chrome grille, rectangular LED headlamps and thick bumpers with LED DRLs. In profile, the Virtus has a clearly defined boot, sharp shoulder line and the same tail lamps seen in much larger sedans like the Passat.
Interior
Inside the car, Virtus gets a very upmarket interior with a feature packed layout. As we already mentioned above, the cabin will offer more space to the occupants looks roomier from the inside. Thanks to the new MQB AO platform, which makes it more lighter in the weight and it provides greater protection to the occupants. Its interior will be also high on features and should offer up to 6-airbags, touchscreen infotainment system, multi-utility steering wheel, auto aircon, reverse assist, etc.
