Bajaj launched Avenger 220cc version in India in 2005, since the Avenger has been a moneymaker for Bajaj Auto. The main reason of success behind Avenger in the market is only lack of cruise motorcycles. In September 2015, the domestic auto-maker came up with updated versions in Cruise and Street styles. A 150cc version was also introduced at the same time. For 2018, Bajaj has updated only the 220, given that it is the higher-selling model in the Avenger range. Continuing with the Street and Cruise platforms.

Design and Features

For the 2018 models, both the Avenger Cruise 220 and the Street 220 get completely different styling. The Avenger Cruise 220 gets flashy paint schemes and decals, a bunch chrome-embellished components and pullback handlebars to give it the look of a traditional American cruiser. The headlamp gets a new inverted triangular design while the tail lamp gets LED units. The Avenger Street 220 on the other hand, gets the blacked out look of an urban cruiser. It has been updated with a new headlamp design, a short flyscreen and the same redesigned tail lamp. Both motorcycles get dual digital displays, one above the handlebar and one the fuel tank.

Engine

Mechanically, the Avenger 220 remains unchanged for 2018 update. Motorcycles continue to use a 219.9cc, air-cooled, DTS-i engine which puts out 18.8 BHP of power at 8400 RPM and 17.5 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed transmission.
