Maruti Suzuki has launched the third-generation of its popular hatchback, the Swift, at the Auto Expo 2018, with prices starting at Rs 4.99 lakhs for the base variant and going up to Rs 8.76 lakhs for the top-spec trim (Ex-Showroom New Delhi); it comes in a total of 14 trims. For the first time, the Swift has been launched with an automatic option on both petrol and diesel engine option, giving it an edge over its competition that do not have a diesel-automatic in their line-ups.

The exterior of this new generation Swift has been updated in the form of a revised fascia which gets sleeker headlamps, revised grille and a sporty bumper which has a recessed front air intake. At the back we can see a new wrap around design for the tail lamps, chunky bumper and slightly lowered roof-line to give the car a sporty appearance.

Inside the car you are greeted by a black and grey cabin with the seats getting contrast coloured bases. The feature list on the Japanese car is quit extensive and includes things like a touch-screen infotainment system with reversing camera, climate control and leather upholstery.

2018 Maruti Swift launched in 14 variants; AMT available on higher-spec trims with petrol and diesel engine options. Maruti Suzuki is offering the Swift with two engine options: a 1197cc, 4-cylinder petrol and a 1248cc, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel. Both the engines are available with a 5-speed manual transmission as well as 5-speed AMTs (automated manual transmissions). The engines on the Swift are not the most powerful in their segment, but they are adequately peppy.
