BMW has launched the all-new, third-generation SUV X1 in India. The company has launched the X1 with both petrol and diesel options, just like the previous generation model, but has removed the option of All Wheel Drive (AWD). The car achieves the speed of 0 to 100 Km/H in just 9 seconds.
The initial ex-showroom price of its petrol variant has been kept at Rs 45.90 lakh, while the price of diesel variant is Rs 47.90 lakh. At the ongoing BMW Joytown Festival in Bengaluru, the company said that these are introductory prices. This car will be manufactured at the Chennai plant of BMW Group.

The new BMW X1 rivals the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLA (Rs 46.50 lakh to Rs 50.50 lakh), new Audi Q3 (Rs 44.89 lakh to Rs 50.39 lakh), Mini Countryman (Rs 47.40 lakh) and Volvo XC40 (Rs 45.90 lakh). Entry-level luxury SUV segment.
Booking & Delivery
The bookings for the new X1 are open at the dealer level for a token amount of Rs 50,000. The brand has also said that deliveries for the diesel-powered X1 will begin from March 2023, while the petrol variant will begin in June 2023. Here is the detailed price list of the new X1.
Engine Specifications: BMW X1 3rd Gen
The new BMW X1 is available in India with a petrol (sDrive 18i) and a diesel (sDrive 18d) engine option. The petrol is a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder unit producing 136hp and 230Nm of torque, while the diesel mill is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder unit producing 150hp and 360Nm of torque. The petrol engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox while the diesel unit is mated to a 7-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Unlike some of its rivals, the X1 does not get all-wheel drive in India.

BMW X1 3rd Gen: Design
Exterior
The design of the new X1 has been significantly updated compared to the previous model. The large grille at the front, L shaped daytime running lamps and newly designed bumpers give the car a sporty look. Its headlamp is sleek and the LED DRLs are quite new. On the side, new 18-inch alloy wheels and flush-sitting door handles have been given. At the back, it gets new wrap round LED tail lamps and a sculpted rear bumper. The M Sport variant gets sportier designs for the front and rear bumpers.
Interior
On the inside, the cabin looks quite premium and up-market. The X1 now gets a new curved infotainment system, which is also being offered in the company’s new models like the X7 and 7 Series. The dashboard now gets slim AC vents. An attempt has been made to keep its dashboard very clean. Physical buttons are provided on the center console. The company has claimed to give a lot of space on the rear seat of the X1. Along with this, 476 liters of boot space is available.
Warranty Of The Car
Customers can choose from a variety of service plans according to duration and mileage. The packages cover Condition Based Service (CBS) and maintenance work with plans ranging from 3 years / 40,000 km to 10 years / 2,00,000 km.

BMW claims that the petrol version can do 0-100 kmph in 9.2 seconds, while the diesel can do the same in 8.9 seconds. They also claim that the petrol delivers ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 16.3kpl, while the latter offers 20.37kpl.
