Honda Cars India has launched the new facelift model of its famous sedan car Honda City in the market today i.e. on Thursday. Equipped with attractive looks, powerful engine and advanced features, the hybrid version of this car City e: HEV has also been launched in the market with new updates. Honda City (i-VTEC) price starts at Rs 11.49 Lakh (ex-showroom) and City e:HEC Hybrid sedan price starts at Rs 18.89 Lakh (ex-showroom). It has been offered in several different paint schemes including a new Obsidian Blue Pearl color for 2023. In addition to this, the sedan now runs on E20 fuel and also complies with the new BS-6 stage-two RDE norms.

In this new avatar of Honda City, the company has also taken special care of the safety of the passengers. This car is now equipped with Advanced Driving Assist System (ADAS) features. Till now this feature was offered only on the top-end variants of the City e:HEV. The company claims that the Honda Sensing Advanced Driver Assist Safety Technology enhances the safety of the car. Also, the company has added more ADAS features to the City e:HEV, which already comes with Honda Sensing. It now comes with state-of-the-art features like adaptive cruise control feature and low-speed practice in lead car departure notification system.

In terms of Honda Sensing safety features, the car gets Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed ​​Follow (new), Road Departure Mitigation System, Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Lead Car Departure Notification System ( New), and features like auto high-beam are available.

2023 Honda City facelift: Engine

In the new Honda City, the company has used the 1.5-liter i-VTEC DOHC engine. Which comes with Variable Timing Control (VTC) technology. The company claims that this technology improves the mileage of the car as well as reduces carbon emissions. This engine is capable of producing 120 bhp power and 145 Nm peak torque. The company claims that the engine delivers high torque at low speeds. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

The company says that its manual variant gives mileage of up to 17.8 kmpl and automatic variant gives mileage of up to 18.4 kmpl. The City e:HEV, on the other hand, gets the same 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine paired with a lithium-ion battery.

2023 Honda City facelift: Design


Talking about the design, the 2023 Honda City facelift has not changed much, but along with updating its front and rear bumpers, it has been given a new honeycomb grille, new design 16-inch alloy wheels. In which the updated spotty front grille is available with the diamond checkered flag pattern. Apart from this, the car gets a freshly designed front bumper with carbon wrapped lower molding and sporty fog lamp garnish. Changes are also seen at the rear with new bumper with carbon wrapped diffuser and body colored sporty trunk lip spoiler.


The updated city sedan will get 8.0-inch advanced touchscreen display audio with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, one-touch electric sunroof, 6.9- inch HD full color TFT meter with multi-function driver information interface, web link smart connectivity, ambient lighting, Many new features are available including 8 speaker premium sound system and LED interior lamp, steering. Apart from this, mounted paddle shifters have also been given for the CVT.
