Oregano:

A well-designed space on the first floor of this delightful hotel that has taken the city by storm, Oregano has an open kitchen, and is presided over by an Italian chef. The upshot is that you’ll be offered a small menu, but one that is changed frequently. Expect seldom seen starters like Pan-Fried Chicken Liver cooked in Balsamico on Bruschetta or the sophisticated Pistachio Crusted Sea Scallops, Citrus Salsa, Micro Salad.

Backpackers Cafe:

More than just the food is the buzz: there are artifacts that suggest travel (the name’s Backpackers, remember?), travel guide books to flip through as you wait for your order and plenty of people watching. The newspaper format menu is fun read too! Backpackers is probably the only known all-day breakfast place in Chandigarh. You will find this place buzzing at all times of the day and night, and is visited by a variety of people, from the young and trendy to the young at heart.

Pizzamore Italia:

Pizzamore Italia Sector 22 C market is this red, white and green pizzeria run by an NRI originally from Chandigarh and an Italian national from Puglia. As unpretentious as any other joint in this market, the pizza is easily the best in the Tricity, given that the chef is a 3rd generation baker.

Virgin Courtyard:

The food over here is good. With a more or less completely Italian menu, the pizzas are the best things on it and are justly considered the finest in the Tri-city. The service staff is several shades better than the city’s average and in the quiet back-lane, you can actually feel the city recede and Italy come alive before your eyes.

Pomodoro:

Pomodoro exudes a certain warmth and is elegant in its looks. The moment you enter this restaurant, located inside the Piccadily you see an entire display of Italian wines welcoming you. They have an open kitchen and the menu includes entire range of Pizzas, pastas and a whole range of garlic breads too. What stands apart is their Creamy Rice Risotto. Try their Bruschetta and you won’t be disappointed.

Café Amor:

Café Amor is a cheerful place with splashes of bright colour, a pleasant view of the gardens outside and a highly sought after ‘lovers’ nook’ — a semi-secret alcove within the café, for those who value their privacy. The menu is quintessentially café, with offerings from all over the western world — burgers, pastas and pizzas.

Flamme Bois Bistro:

Quite cozy and convivial, this one is undoubtedly best in the evening. The menu is one of the most sophisticated in all of Chandigarh with Lebanese, Italian, French on offer and manages to pull it off fairly well. Best of all is the western section, though the breakfasts, Lebanese and pizzas are in a league of their own.
