The BMW S1000R is a naked bike motorcycle manufactured by BMW Motorrad from 2014. It is based heavily upon the BMW S1000RR with which it shares its engine, gearbox, frame and suspension. BMW S 1000 RR is a sports bike which was first introduced in April 2008 in Munich and was made by BMW Motorrad to compete in 2009 Superbike World Championship. Seeing its huge success, the commercial production was started in 2010.
BMW S1000R Overview : The S1000R is a stripped down version of the S1000RR and BMW calls the naked design as ‘focused on the essentials’. While the bike boasts of an aggressive stance, the company has kept the overall styling of the bike similar to the S1000RR. However, there are a few changes that differentiate it from the race version sibling. The fairing is replaced by the radiator shrouds that cover the engine partly. It gets the BMW typical asymmetrical dual headlights.

BMW S1000R Specifications : The BMW S1000R is powered by the same engine that powers the RR, which is a four-stroke, 999cc, oil-cooled, in-line four-cylinder mill. However, BMW Motorrad has made changes to the delivery of peak power and torque figures. The S1000R is re-tuned to churn out 160bhp of power at 11,000rpm and a torque of 112Nm at 9250rpm.
