Musical Style of BTS

Most of BTS’s work is co-written and produced by the band. BTS has emphasised hip hop as their musical foundation since their start, owing to the influence of RM and Suga’s underground rapper backgrounds, as well as its main producer Pdogg. BTS first dabbled with R&B and rock on Skool Luv Affair and Dark & Wild in 2014, starting with old-school hip hop on 2 Cool 4 Skool and O!RUL8,2? in 2013. They experimented with R&B on Skool Luv Affair and Dark & Wild in 2014. They also experimented with orchestral strings and EDM in their The Most Beautiful Moment in Life album series (2015–16).

BTS is the first Korean group to be certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), with one Double Platinum single, one Triple Platinum single, three Platinum singles, three Platinum albums, four Gold singles, and one Gold album. Throughout their history, BTS has had multiple global sponsorship partnerships in a variety of industries. BTS has been a Puma partner since 2015, and they first marketed their

sportswear as Puma Korea’s brand ambassadors before becoming global ambassadors in 2018 and promoting the remix of Puma’s “Turin” and “Sportstyle” lines all over the world. BTS secured a deal with Fila to represent their clothing in 2019. BTS has also acted as worldwide brand ambassadors for LG Electronics’ 2018 LG G7 ThinQ phone and Hyundai Motors’ 2019 flagship SUV, the “Palisade,” as well as the “Nexo,” a hydrogen fuel cell electric SUV. Hyundai obtained nearly double the expected domestic order volume for the Palisade because of BTS’s support. 

To showcase how electric vehicles may help address climate change, BTS became worldwide ambassadors of the Formula E electric street racing series.
