1. Tata Nexon Electric SUV

Tata Motors one of a homegrown motor car manufacturer company has launched the first in-house electric SUV, the Tata Nexon EV with prices starting from Rs 13.99 Lakh for the XM variant and going up to Rs 15.99 lakh for the XZ+ Lux variant (all-prices, introductory, ex-showroom). The car is available in 3 variants and the bookings commenced a few days ahead of its launch. Tata is also offering a dual-tone paint scheme that comes with a white coloured roof. It gets bigger wheel arches and skid plates along with a raised front that gives the SUV a rather impressive look. The Tata Nexon Gets a 30.2 kWh battery pack with an IP67 rating can also be charged using a DC charger that can top it up to 80 per cent battery in 1 hour. The electric motor is rated at 129 ps and 245 Nm. Tata claims 312 km on a single charge and the battery can be charged in under 8 hours with the help of a complimentary home mounted AC charger that the company will provide.

2. Hyundai Kona Electric SUV

The Kona Electric is Hyundai’s first electric vehicle for India. The version for India features a 39kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 136hp electric motor. Other numbers of interest include a 452km ARAI-certified range and ability to charge in 57 minutes with a DC fast charger. The Kona has been launched in a single trim and is only available at 11 Hyundai dealerships across the country. In terms of design and styling, the new Hyundai Kona Electric is largely inspired by the regular petrol/diesel version of the Kona compact SUV, except for the face which gets the signature electric vehicle face. On the inside, instead of going for a futuristic design Hyundai has kept things simple as the cabin is largely identical to the regular version of the Kona SUV. The SUV comes with leather seats as standard along with leather-wrapped steering wheel, soft-touch material for the dashboard, sporty metal pedals and a fully digital instrument cluster.

3. MG ZS Electric SUV

The India MG ZS EV has been launched in India. Prices for the updated all-electric SUV starts at Rs. 20.99 lakh and go up to Rs. 24.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The SUV was first launched in India almost a year ago, and now the Chinese-owned British carmaker has introduced an updated model of the EV. The India ZS EV has been updated with all-new HT (Hi-Tech) battery, 17-inch tyres, increased ground clearance and an eco-tree challenge app for i-Smart EV 2.0. The carmaker continues to offer the SUV in two variants – Exclusive and Excite. It is MG’s second product in India for the year India after Hector facelift, which was launched in January India. The overall design of the ZS EV has remained unchanged, and it continues to get a deep concave grille with chrome accents, London-eye projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lights, windmill inspired 17-inch diamond-cut machined alloy wheels, roof rails, rear spoiler, ORVMs with side indicators, body-coloured bumpers and more.

4. Tata Tigor Electric Sedan

The Tigor EV is available in three variants – XE+, XM+ and XT+ – with prices starting at Rs 9.44 lakh for commercial buyers, and Rs 13.09 lakh for private buyers. The Tigor EV comes with an ARAI-certified range of 213km, which is significantly higher than the 142km range of the standard Tigor EV. The 50 percent improvement in range comes from the incorporation of a 21.5kWh battery pack in place of the earlier 16.2kWh system. AC charging and DC fast charging are part of the package. As before, the model is powered by a 72V, 3-phase AC induction motor that makes 30kW (41hp) at 4,500rpm and 105Nm of torque at 2,500rpm. The power is channeled to the front wheels via a single-speed gearbox, though Tata has added driving modes – namely Drive and Sport – to the Tigor EV.

5. Mahindra eVerito Electric Sedan

Mahindra was the first company to launch Electric vehicle in India and investing continuously for many years. The Mahindra & Mahindra launched first-ever electric sedan car names “eVerito”. However, first, it was available for only commercial use only, but in the present it also available for individual buyers as well. or the increasing demand for Electric vehicles, the Indian Government also supporting the customer by offering a huge big amount in terms of Subsidy up to Rs. 1.5 lacs. The Mahindra eVerito is the all-electric version of the now-discontinued Verito sedan. Available in two variants – D2 and D6 – the eVerito has an 18.55kWh battery pack that has an ARAI-rated 140km of range; real-world range, which is usually lower than the ARAI figure, has been a complaint. The weak electric motor also means the eVerito is slow and struggles to keep up with city traffic.

6. Mahindra e2o Plus Electric Hatchback

Mahindra e2o Plus is the second electric car from the company after eVerito electric sedan. The eVerito has discontinued in India due to its low battery performance as well as low power setup. Mahindra also working on its upcoming electric cars such as Mahindra eKUV100 and Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV which also coming and join the competition very soon. If we talk about e2o Plus electric car, It comes with a fairly conventional tall-boy design, powered by a 210 AH Lithium-ion battery, which generates the maximum power of 25 bhp at 3500 rpm and peak torque of 70 Nm at 1000 rpm. The car can accelerate 0-60 kmph in less than 10 seconds with top speed of 80 kmph. 7. Strom R3 Electric Car

Storm Motors, an electric vehicle startup company, has announced the opening of pre-bookings for its new flagship product Storm R3, an all-electric personal mobility vehicle. The company will be producing a limited number of these two-seat three-wheeled electric cars in 2021. Having recently opened pre-bookings for the R3, Strom states that it has already gathered $1 million + in orders in just the first four days. Expect a price tag of about Rs 5 lakh, which would make the R3 the most affordable electric car in India. Founded in 2016, Strom Motors states that its ‘Made in India, Made for India’ electric car has been designed with the purpose to serve people belonging to three segments – working professionals, fleet owners and families looking for mobility within cities in a 10-km radius. Strom-R3 is ARAI certified and has filed patents for its Vehicle Control Unit (VCU). It uses a 48V battery system resulting in an additional 5-10 years second life for their battery packs, in applications like UPS storage and emergency backups.

8. Jaguar i-Pace Electric SUV

Jaguar Land Rover has launched its first all-electric performance SUV I-Pace in India through an immersive digital event open to members of the media, customers, fans and enthusiasts of the brand. In three variants, S, SE, and HSE, the electric performance SUVs are priced at INR 1.06 crore, INR 1.08 crore and INR 1.12 crore, respectively. The company claims that the I-Pace powertrain provides 294 kW and 696 Nm of usable instant torque. With built-in all-wheel drive traction, the electric SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The vehicle is fitted with a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers 400 PS from its two electric motors. The battery comes with an eight years or 160,000 km warranty. A 7.4 kW AC wall-mounted charger will be provided in addition to the standard 8 years or 160 000 km battery warranty. Additionally, customers will get a complimentary 5 years service package and 5 years Jaguar Roadside Assistance.

9. Mercedes-Benz EQC Electric SUV

EQC is Mercedes-Benz’s first standalone EV model and falls under the brand’s new EQ sub-brand for electric mobility. With dimensions somewhere between a GLC and GLE, it offers mid-range space and practicality, but with a 408hp electric motor and a claimed range of up to 471km from its 80kWh battery, The EQC produces a combined output of 408hp and 765Nm of torque. It’ll do a WLTP-certified 400km on a single charge, with energy being stored in a floor-mounted 80kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Charging times vary depending on the electrical supply, with a full charge from a standard 15A (3.4kW) domestic socket taking 21 hours, or 10 hours with the 7.5kW wall-box charger provided by Mercedes. On the other hand, 50kW DC fast charger can juice up battery from 10-100% in just 90 minutes.
