The EV segment in India is quite unique as the electric offerings compete with each other directly due to the similar power-trains yet the pricing sets them miles apart. But one thing is pretty clear and that is no matter how much the automakers fight it out in this niche segment, it is a win-win situation for us all. While many around the world have already made the shift to environment-friendly vehicles, Indians are just starting to appreciate the potential and usefulness of electric cars. In 2019-20, electric vehicle sales were up by 20%. Owing to this sudden interest, car manufacturers are coming up with new battery-operated vehicles almost every year. On the other hand, The first and foremost reason that can motivate you to buy an EV is the maintenance cost. If you buy a car with an fuel engine, it will have more mechanical parts and therefore will have more complexities and difficulty in maintenance. EVs are easy and cheaper to maintain because of their simple structure and operations.

Another major advantage that EVs deliver over conventional fuel engine cars is the running cost. For instance, if we look at the Hyundai Kona, it delivers around 450kms in a single charge and therefore the running costs come down to even less than a single rupee per kilometer! Amazing, isn’t it? This is the most important one among all the benefits of buying an EV considering its India!
