Overview

The government is constantly emphasizing on buying electric vehicles. For this subsidy is also given by the government. The subsidy can be estimated from the fact that during the budget 2022-23, a subsidy of Rs 2908 crore will be given under the FAME scheme. Its deadline was also extended till March 2024, according to which those who buy electric vehicles by March 2024 will be able to get the benefit of subsidy. 1. Delhi EV Subsidy

NThose who buy electric vehicles in the capital Delhi get a discount in the price. On buying a four wheeler EV, a discount of Rs 10,000 per kilowatt is given in Delhi. The maximum subsidy limit for the initial 1000 buyers is Rs 1.5 lakh. At the same time, those who buy two wheelers get a discount of five thousand rupees per kilowatt. Those who buy two-wheeler EVs get a maximum subsidy of Rs 30,000. Apart from this, the scalping incentive is Rs 10,000 and road tax and registration fee have also been waived off.

2. Maharashtra EV Subsidy

Buying an EV in Maharashtra gets a subsidy of Rs 5,000 per kilowatt. But if you are among the first ten thousand buyers, then you can take a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh on a four wheeler EV. A separate subsidy of Rs 25,000 is available for scrapping an old car in the state. The first two lakh people who buy two wheeler EVs in the state get a subsidy of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 on scrapping and Rs 12,000 under the buyback scheme. EV registration fee and road tax fee has been waived in the state.

3. Gujarat EV Subsidy

There is a discount of ten thousand rupees per kilowatt on buying an EV car in Gujarat. The first ten thousand customers get a maximum discount of Rs 1.5 lakh. At the same time, an incentive amount or incentive of ten thousand rupees is available on buying a two wheeler EV. The first 1.1 lakh buyers get a subsidy of Rs 20,000. Apart from this, registration fee and road tax do not have to be paid.

4. Assam EV Subsidy

The state government had formulated the Electric Vehicle Policy of Assam, 2021 for EVs. Under this, the number of EV vehicles in the state is to be increased to 25 percent by 2026. The maximum subsidy of 20 thousand rupees is available from the state government on two wheeler EV at the rate of 10 thousand rupees per kilowatt. For three wheeler EV at the rate of Rs 10 thousand per kilowatt maximum subsidy of Rs 50 thousand, for four wheeler EV at the rate of Rs 10 thousand per kilowatt up to a maximum of Rs 1.5 lakh is given. Along with this, exemption on parking charge, road tax is also available for five years.

5. Meghalaya EV Subsidy

The state government gets a subsidy of Rs 10,000 per kilowatt for the first 3500 buyers of two wheelers up to Rs 1.5 lakh, and Rs 4,000 per kilowatt for the first 200 customers of three wheelers. On the other hand, the first 2500 customers get a subsidy of four thousand rupees on buying a car worth Rs 15 lakh ex-showroom.

6. Haryana EV Subsidy

In Haryana adjoining Delhi, EV policy has also been approved some time back. Under the new policy, you will get a discount of up to Rs 10 lakh on buying an EV. A discount of 15 percent will be available on buying a new EV car up to Rs 70 lakh. This exemption will be separate from the FAME-2 subsidy. A subsidy of Rs 25,000 on e-rickshaws and Rs 50,000 on light commercial EVs is proposed.

7. Rajasthan EV Subsidy

The EV policy has been implemented some time back in the state itself. According to media reports, there will be a discount of 30 to 50 thousand rupees on the purchase of an EV car, while a two-wheeler EV will be given a discount of two to ten thousand rupees, three-wheeler EV four to twenty thousand rupees and on the purchase of a bus, a discount of up to five lakh rupees will be given.

8. Punjab EV Subsidy

Apart from Delhi, AAP also has a government in Punjab. CM Mann’s government has also approved the draft EV policy. Under the policy draft, the first one lakh EV buyers in the state will be given tax exemption as well as an incentive of up to ten thousand rupees. The EV policy draft proposes to give a concession of up to thirty thousand rupees to the first ten thousand buyers of EV auto rickshaws and e-rickshaws. The first five thousand buyers of light commercial vehicles will be given an incentive amount ranging from thirty thousand rupees to fifty thousand rupees.

10. Chhattisgarh EV Susidy

According to media reports, the EV policy has been approved recently in the state. Under this, complete exemption from road tax will be given on all EVs purchased during the first two years from the date of official implementation. 50 per cent road tax exemption will be given on purchase of an EV after two years of policy commencement and 25 per cent rebate will be given if the vehicle is purchased after five years from the commencement of the policy.

11. Uttar Pradesh EV Susidy

Yogi government in UP is also going to bring new EV policy soon. According to media reports, the government has prepared the draft of Electric Vehicle Policy 2022-27. According to this, a discount of up to 15 percent will be given on the purchase of two wheeler, four wheeler and EV buses. EV vehicles in the state can also be given complete exemption on registration fee and road tax. This exemption will be 100 percent for the first three years of the implementation of the EV policy in the state and it will be 50 percent in the fourth, fifth year.
