Hyundai Motors has all set to launch of a 7-seater version of Creta SUV Alcazar in the second half of 2021. The Korean car manufacturer confirmed the rumours of upcoming 7-seater Alcazar for the Indian Market. The Creta is already dominating this segment as it is the highest-selling suv car in India. The korean company wants to enhance the brand of Creata by launching its bigger version Alcazar they recently launched a facelift version of Creata as well in the previous year.

The 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar will be around 30mm longer than its 5-seater sibling and will ride on 20mm longer wheelbase. The SUV will be offered in 6 and 7-seat options. While the 6-seater model will have captain seats for the second row, the 7-seater Creta will get bench-type second and third-row seats. The SUV will also receive design changes in the form of a flat roof, revised rear profile, new roof rails, slimmer C-pillar and new chrome-studded front grille. Hyundai will be expanding the Creta’s range. Having received a brand new generation in March 2020, the South Korean auto major managed to pip Kia Seltos and get the Creta back on top of the monthly sales charts again and it stays there.

Alcazar will sit in between Creata and Tuscan. Hyundai will now enter the three-row seating SUV space in India with the Alcazar to take on rivals like the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, upcoming grand duster and the upcoming next-generation Mahindra XUV 500. This is the new and hottest selling segment where you accodate a family of more than 5 people that too within budget. The newly launched Safari is getting a good response from the public.

The Alcazar will come with a crome finished front grill. A close inspection of the vehicle even reveals parking sensors on the front bumper, which is something that is not available even on the top of the line trim of the five-seater version. In the side profile, the Alcazar features 18-inch silver-finished alloy wheels as the 5 seated creata comes with 17inch alloys. Of course, the production model will offer diamond-cut units at least on the top model.

Also, a careful inspection of the side profile reveals that the designers haven’t given the beltline a huge kink to accommodate a bigger greenhouse. Even the roof stays largely flat. From the Inside, Apart from the additional row of seats, the cabin layout is expected to remain largely unchanged as compared to the five-seat Creta. Features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, digital instrument cluster, Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, power driver seat and air purifier are all expected to be retained.

Alcazar lost likely will come up with a similar engine that comes on Creta. The three engine options will include a 1.5-litre MPi, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 113 hp & 144 Nm, a 1.5-litre CRDi, turbo-diesel engine producing 113 hp & 250 Nm and a 1.4-litre TGDi turbo-petrol engine that makes 138 hp & 242 Nm
