Hyundai Elite i20 Overview

First launched in 2008, Hyundai i20 is one of most popular car in premium hatchback cars segment in India. Hyundai Elite i20 was introduced in 2014 and got huge success in this segment. In 2018 showcased facelift version of i20 in Auto Expo. The i20 Elite design was inspired its Fluidic design and that was the reason called Elite. The Elite has a European feel and flair along with the highly sporty and innovative design; although Hyundai Elite i20 misses out on a few features that the earlier hatch used to flaunt, it still is desirable and tempting.

Hyundai Elite i20 Specification

The Elite i20 gets the same petrol and diesel engines from the previous car. The petrol is a four-cylinder 1.2-litre Kappa engine producing 83bhp and 113Nm of torque mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, the diesel variant is powered by the 1.4-litre CRDI mill churning out 89bhp and 219Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Sporting Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 philosophy, i20 has been crafted aesthetically. Compared to the previous generation model, the hatchback gets a string of new elements such as the chrome finished hexagonal radiator grille in front, wrap-around automatic head lamps, sporty fog lamps in front and rear combination lamps at the back. From the side, it looks modish with sharp beltline, flared wheel arches and supporting character lines. The slightly protrude wrap-around tail lamps at the back adds to the elegance.

Hyundai has also spiced up the interiors offer by more premium and exquisite stuff inside the cabin. The Elite i20 is feature rich from inside which is a norm for all Hyundai cars now. The cabin now looks better with the redesigned dashboard in beige-black combination. The Elite i20 gets all the features like automatic climate control, rear AC vents, all-four power windows, electrically adjustable wing mirrors et al. While we are yet to see if it gets the distance to empty and average fuel consumption read outs on the MFD, it does get an in-built service reminder.
