Tata motors collaborated with Jayem Automotives and working for Tata Nano-based electric car “Jayem Neo” in India since back in 2017. Tata could launch the EV under the Jayem Neo brand in India. After a delay of almost 2 years, in mid-2019, it was reported that Ola Electric secured a debt fund of INR 40 cr from Tata Motors Finance to purchase Jayem Neo EV as city taxi. Now, a 2021 Tata Nano electric test mule has been spotted in Akurdi, Pune. The Tata Jayem Neo is essentially the electric version of the Nano hatchback. Apart from, Ola Cabs is set to incorporate the Tata Nano-based Jayem Neo EV in its fleet. The first batch of Jayem Neo EVs for Ola Cabs will comprise 400 units. As part of the agreement, Tata Motors supplies complete Nano body shells, apart from engine and gearbox, to Jayem Automotives, which then assembles the car and adds a 48-Volt electric system that puts out 17kW (23hp). Sources claim an ARAI cycle range of 200km on a full charge, which drops to around 140km with four persons and air-conditioning. This powertrain is supplied by Electra EV, a technology company that develops and produces electric drive systems. Electra EV also provides electric powertrains for the Tigor EV and the Tiago EV. Whether it is going to be marketed as Tata Nano EV or Jayem Neo car will be covered with in FAME II category. In this post we will share all details of the upcoming Jayem Neo EV. Exterior

As far as design is concerned, the Jayem Neo is identical to the now-defunct Tata Nano but One must note that the electric Neo will not feature Tata badge anywhere. Though, Tata could launch a more powerful version of the electric Nano at a later stage, that will be available to the private buyers. This particular mule features black bumper to keep the costs low. Closer observation reveals that the Neo EV is equipped with a fully digital instrument display which is mounted above the center console. Additional bits will be the Jayem badge on the car and Electra EV badge on the side to signify the electric system

Interior

Inside of the car, the Neo gets fresh interior design and make you delight with good space as well. As for the features, it might share some of the bits from the standard model, though both the automakers have not confirmed anything on that front. The car boast with all latest features such as: a digital instrument cluster with all tech information such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist System), Jayem connect, surrounding sound system and much more.
