South Korean car maker company Kia has launched the new luxury (O) variant of its famous MPV Kia Carens in the Indian market. The attractive looks and powerful engine have led to a modest price tag of Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). The new concept is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The new ones will be positioned between the existing Luxury Plus and Luxury trims. However, some of the features that are in the Luxury Plus trims are not included.
It may be noted that Kia Carens comes in a total of 6 trims in the market, which include Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, Luxury (O) and Luxury Plus. Its base variant costs Rs 10.45 lakh and the top variant costs Rs 18.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The car comes in both 6 and 7-seater configurations, news is that it may soon come with a five-seater layout as well.

Let us tell you, the Kia Carens Luxury (O) trim comes only with a 7-seat configuration and bench seats have been given in its second row. Some new features have been added to it which include electric sunroof, ambient lighting. The lighting inside the cabin changes color according to the driving modes although some features are missing like 8-speaker Bose audio system, paddle shifter, ventilated front seats.

Kia Carens Luxury (O): Engine Specification
As we mentioned above, this car is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. In this, the company has given the option of turbocharged, 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, diesel engine. Its petrol engine generates 157.8 bhp power and 253Nm torque and this powertrain comes exclusively with a 7-speed DCT unit. Whereas, the diesel engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and generates 114 bhp power and 250Nm torque.
