British luxury car maker McLaren Automotive has launched its new hybrid supercar Artura in India on Friday (May 26). The company has kept the Delhi ex-showroom price of this supercar at around Rs 5.1 crore. The McLaren Artura is built by the company with Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA). Due to this, the Kerb weight of the car is only 1,498 kg.
McLaren says the name ‘Artura’ comes from ‘Art and Future’. The Artura is the automaker’s first ever series-production high-performance hybrid supercar. The launch of the McLaren Artura for India was confirmed in November 2022 when the brand announced its entry into India with the opening of its first dealership in Mumbai. The manufacturer says that they have sold over 20 cars in a year of operation and have captured 25 per cent market share in the segment.
Great in Speed
Talking about the speed of McLaren Artura, this supercar achieves a speed of 0-100 km / h in just 3.0 seconds. At the same time, this car achieves a speed of 0-200 kmph in 8.3 seconds. Its top speed is 330 kilometers per hour.
4 Driving Modes
The McLaren Artura offers four driving modes – E-Mode, Comfort, Sport and Track. E-Mode is the default mode for silent start-up and the vehicle runs on electric power only. In Comfort mode, the V6 petrol engine works in tandem with the electric motor to help maximize fuel economy. In Sport mode, the electric motor fills in torque at low revs and the engine works to deliver maximum performance. Lastly, there is Track mode which delivers the same mix as the hybridized powertrain but the shifts are now quicker.
Look & Design
Talking about the exterior design, The front features McLaren’s characteristic boomerang design, which integrates the slim LED headlamps and large air intakes. There are large air scoops on the side that provide airflow to the rear wheels and the engine. The rear end is more McLaren family inspired, with a mesh grille for the engine bay and twin circular exhausts. All-in-all, true supercar design McLaren was one of the first companies to develop hybrid technology.
McLaren Artura: Engine Specifications
The McLaren Artura is powered by a 2993cc, 3.0L, twin turbo V6 engine, which is tuned with an 8 speed automatic gearbox. This engine generates 680 bhp power and 720 Nm peak torque.
Along with this, the electric motor and 7.4kWh battery pack have been given in the supercar, which gives a range of 31 km. This motor generates 94 bhp power and 225 Nm peak torque.
