Auto Expo 2023: MG introduces the EUNIQ 7 MPV with world’s first hydrogen fuel-cell technology, with a range of 600 km.
On the second day of Auto Expo 2023, the country’s biggest automotive show, MG Motor India showcased its range of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) with its third generation Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology, showcasing the future of mobility in India with a greater focus on sustainability. Displayed. Along with this, the MG Euniq 7, a 7-seater Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) luxury MPV made its debut in India. This model continues to be sold in global markets under the name Maxus Euniq 7. It is the only passenger FCEV in production in MG’s parent company SAIC’s global portfolio.

Range & Power
The powertrain setup of the MG Euniq 7 includes a 92kW fuel cell stack mated to a permanent magnet electric motor making 201 bhp. It has three hydrogen tanks with a cumulative capacity of 6.4 kg. Hydrogen is stored at a pressure of 70 MPa and the tanks are filled in 3 to 5 minutes. With a full tank, the Euniq 7 MPV promises a range of up to 605 km (on NEDC cycle). The Euniq 7 MPV can accelerate from 0 to 50 kmph in 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 kmph.
What is PROME P390 ?
Hydrogen fuel-cell systems were first launched in 2001 as the Phoenix No. 1 fuel-cell vehicle project. Now the newly developed third generation fuel-cell system, also known as PROME P390, comes with state-of-the-art features such as integrated design, high power density, high reliability, high reliability, and excellent environmental compatibility.
With a system power of 92 kW, the world’s leading fuel-cell technology adheres to the highest safety standards and optimizes key performance indicators for comfort, fuel economy and service life. MG Euniq 7 MPV – Design
Exterior
In terms of design, the Euniq 7 has a typical MPV silhouette with a short and stubby front end and a van-like body. Up front, it has a tall nose and gets a large, chrome-trimmed front grille that’s flanked by slim headlights with triangular airdams lower down. The glasshouse is large and it features sliding rear doors and dual-tone alloys. At the rear, the Euniq 7’s LED tail-lights are connected by a chrome strip. The car showcased was finished in a dual-tone blue and white paint scheme. Overseas, the Euniq 7 FCEV is sold under SAIC’s Maxus brand.
Interior
Inside, the Euniq 7 features a seven-seater layout, in a 2+2+3 configuration with individual captain seats in the middle row. It gets a layered dashboard that appears quite premium, with a free-standing touchscreen taking centre stage. Features include a large panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster and ADAS functions.
