Car maker Tata Motors has introduced a new electric version of its popular SUV model Nexon, the Nexon EV Prime. This is an update to the standard version of the electric vehicle. The company has launched it in the market at an initial price of Rs 14.99 lakh. The company said in a statement that this model of Nexon EV Prime will replace the old version. Tata Motors said that the Nexon EV Prime can cover a distance of 312 km on a single charge. The company is also giving a warranty of eight years or 1.60 lakh km on its battery and motor.

Tata Nexon EV Prime: Added Features

The Nexon EV offers some great features like Ryzen Modes, cruise control, smartwatch connectivity and indirect tire pressure monitoring system. Apart from this, these new features will also be rolled out to existing Nexon EV owners through a software update. This update will be available from July 25 at the service centers of the brand. Tata Motors said that the Nexon EV Prime can cover a distance of 312 km on a single charge. The company is also giving a warranty of eight years or 1.60 lakh km on its battery and motor. The company said that 22,000 buyers of the existing Nexon EV will also be given free software updates and the facility to equip them with the features of the new model. This software can be updated from July 25 at the authorized service center.

These features have made Prime special

• Compared to the existing Nexon EV, the new Prime model has been given many features. It gets high-end features like multi-mode regen, automatic brake lamp activation on regen, cruise control, indirect.
• On the other hand, Nexon EV Prime with smart features comes with Tire Pressure Monitoring System (iTPMS), smartwatch integrated connectivity feature and charging timeout of 110 seconds.

Existing customers can also take these features

Tata has also extended these features to its existing Nexon EV customers through a software update. In this, benefits are being given to the customers under the ‘Evolving to Electric’ scheme. Tata Motors is offering the first software update free of cost to its existing customers from 25 July 2022 at its registered service centres. However, all existing owners will have to pay for subsequent software updates. For this, Tata Motors will soon start a program for the customers.

The Tata Nexon EV Prime is powered by a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which generates 127bhp and 245Nm of torque. According to the company, this car can achieve the speed of 0-100 kmph in just 9.9 seconds. Also, two drive modes have been given in it including Drive and Sport. The Nexon EV is available in three color options: Signature Teal Blue, Glacier White and Daytona Grey. It has been introduced in five variants, with prices starting from Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
