Tata Zest AMT Maruti Celerio AMT
  • Design and Style:
The Tata Zest is a new launch by the company, extensively re-engineered and comes across as a promising prospect. The new design incorporates an aggressive nose, a heavily sculpted bumper, stretched headlamps with projectors, a new grille that flows seamlessly into the headlamps and even a mild power bulge on the bonnet.

It also gets LED daytime-running lights and a chrome strip bordering the grille. The Zest boasts a thick character line, and it’s even got a black strip on the running board and the lower side of the bumper to help reduce the visual bulk. The rear windscreen flows smoothly into the stubby boot and the wraparound tail-lamps are, again, a distinctive feature. Its 16-inch wheels add to the Zest’s tall stance.

The Maruti Celerio hatchback is a completely different vehicle with trendy body structure and cosmetics as compared to its predecessors. Its front facade is dressed up with wraparound shaped headlamp cluster that comes incorporated with a powerful headlamp and turn indicators.

It surrounds a wide radiator grille with horizontally positioned chrome strips that are further embossed with the company’s insignia. The LXI trim gets a black colored grille as standard, but it has the chrome plated company logo. Its front body colored bumper has a contemporary design with a wide air intake section, which is surrounded by a pair of round shaped fog lamps.

However, the entry level and mid range trims are in black colored door handles and the ORVM caps. This small hatch comes with a total length of 3600mm along with a decent width of 1600mm. It has a very good height of 1540mm, and  a wheelbase of 2425mm.

  • Interiors:
The best part of the Zest is its interior. The choice of materials, style and fit and finish is one of the best Tata has to offer.  The Zest comes with chrome accented steering wheel coupled with a well styled quality gear knob. It also has steering mounted controls.

The center console houses the HARMAN infotainment system that allows seamless integration with the user’s Smart-phone.

The system offers a rich multimedia experience along with social media integration. Along with all these features, the new system also includes built in HVAC controls, a first in its class feature.

The Celerio has a spacious cabin with dual tone color scheme. Inside the cabin, it gets the signature Suzuki design traits and equipments that can be found on the other company’s models. It has a huge shoulder and head room inside.

Also, it comes with a lot of storage spaces including cup holders, magazine pockets, bottle holders, large boot compartment and many other utility based features.  Its seats have better cushions and are integrated with headrest, which certainly offers comfortable seating to all the occupants.

The high end variant also features a driver seat height adjuster, which certainly adds to its advantage. The car maker has used premium quality fabric upholstery for covering these seats. Furthermore, the top end version is installed with an advanced music system along with four high quality speakers that keeps the occupants entertained while traveling.

  • Engine:
The Tata Bolt comes in both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol version of the Zest comes fitted with the 1.2 litre Revoltron engine with inter-cooled turbo charging and multi-point fuel injection system. Whereas,

The 1.3 L Quadrajet diesel engine powers the diesel version that develops a maximum power of 89 Bhp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm. This engine is mated to a five speed automated manual transmission.
