1. MG Comet EV

MG Motors introduced its cheapest electric car MG Comet in the Indian market last April. This is the second electric car from the company to be introduced in the Indian market, before which the MG eZS was introduced. MG Motor is offering a 17.3kWh battery pack in this car and its electric motor is capable of generating 41bhp power and 110Nm torque. The company claims that this car will be able to travel up to 230 kilometers in a single charge. Its battery takes about 7 hours to charge with a 3.3kW charger, while its battery gets charged up to 80% in just 5 hours. Its price ranges from Rs 7.98 lakh to Rs 9.98 lakh.

The company claims that the charging cost of this car is very less. To charge it for the whole month, only Rs 519 will have to be spent. Features like more than 55 connected car features, wireless Android and Apple Car Play, floating twin display, more than 100 voice commands and digital keys are available in this car. To activate its voice commands, you just need to say ‘Hello MG’. The advantage of digital key is that you will not need physical key, you will be able to operate it with digital key. Not only this, you can also share this digital key with your friends.

2. Tata Tiago EV

Tata Tiago Electric comes with a total of two battery pack options, in which a 19.2kWh capacity battery pack is available and as a second option a 24kWh battery pack is given. Which give a driving range of up to 250 km and 315 km respectively. The electric motor of the small range model of this car generates 60bhp power and 105Nm torque, while the higher range generates 74bhp power and 114Nm torque. Its price ranges from Rs 8.69 lakh to Rs 12.04 lakh.

The Tiago EV is based on Tata Motors’ Ziptron high-voltage electrical architecture and supports 50kW DC fast charging. When connected to a 50kW DC fast charger, the Tiago EV’s battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 57 minutes. This car has been introduced with two onboard charging facilities, its 19.2kWh battery version has been given a slightly less powerful 3.3kW charger. At the same time, with the big pack, the option of fast charging of 7.2 kW capacity is also available, due to which the battery of the car gets fully charged in just 3.5 hours.

3. Citroen eC3

French leading automobile manufacturer Citroen has recently launched its new electric hatchback car Citroen eC3 in the Indian market. The starting price of this car has been fixed at Rs 11.50 lakh. In the Citroen EC3, the company has used a 29.2kWh battery pack, which powers the front axle-mounted electric motor. Its electric motor generates 57hp power and 143nm peak torque. The company claims that the new electric car EC3 is capable of accelerating from 0-60 kmph in just 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 107 kmph. In this car, along with the regenerative braking system, two driving modes have also been given, which include Eco and Standard.

The new Citroen eC3 electric car comes with a driving range of 320 kilometers (ARAI) in a single charge. The company has given two charging options for this car. With the help of DC fast charger, the battery of this car gets charged from 10% to 80% in just 57 minutes. There is also a 3.3kW onboard AC charger, which also supports CCS2 fast charging. With this charger, its battery takes about 10.5 hours to get fully charged.

Tata Motors recently launched the new updated version of its famous electric sedan car Tata Tigor EV. The company has made some special changes in the new electric sedan and it is being claimed that the driving range of this car has also increased. The price of this car ranges from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh. In the new Tigor EV, the company has used a liquid-cooled battery pack of 26 kWh capacity, which is an IP67-rated lithium-ion battery. The company’s medicine is that its battery gives better performance in every season. Its electric motor generates power of 55 kW and torque of 170 Nm. This car gives a driving range of up to 315 kilometers in a single charge.

5. Tata Nexon EV Prime

Tata Nexon EV comes with two different battery packs in the domestic market. One is the Prime whose price starts from Rs. 14.49 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 17.19 lakhs. A battery pack of 30.2kWh capacity has been given in this variant and the company claims that this car gives a driving range of up to 315 kilometers in a single charge. And the second variant is Max, whose price ranges from Rs 16.49 lakh to Rs 19.54 lakh. It has a battery pack of 40.5 kWh capacity, which comes with a driving range of 453 km.

It gets three driving modes, which include City, Eco and Sport. The Nexon EV Max Dark also gets the same semi-digital instrument cluster with sunroof, air purifier with AQI display, cruise control, wireless smartphone charger, cooled glove box, rear air-conditioning vents, 7-inch Multi Information Display (MID). On the other hand, in terms of safety, it has two airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, anti-lock braking system (ABS). Although this electric version has not been crash tested, but its ICE engine model has been given a 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash testing.
