The Triumph Tiger Explorer is a dual-sport motorcycle from the British company Triumph Motorcycle that was announced at the EICMA show in November 2011 and brought to India in late 2013 as a part of Triumph’s Tiger family of adventure motorcycles currently on sale here. Triumph announced the expansion of its Tiger Explorer range from two to six models for 2016 namely the XR, XRx, XRt, XC, XCx and Xca. The expanded model line-up offers more choices of specifications and features to meet a variety of needs for adventure riders. The XR range focused the more on-road and XC range focused the more off-road. All of the models get some cosmetic changes, a sharp, more muscular look, as well as an electrically adjustable screen. Triumph’s entry-level XR and XC models have WP adjustable suspension and a multi-channel switchable ABS and traction control. While the other four models receive Triumph’s semi-active suspension system, allowing the rider to electronically control the adjustment of the front and rear suspension damping to better adapt to the terrain.
Triumph Tiger Explorer Overview :- Tiger Explorer XR and XC Series Specific equipment varies, depending on model. The Triumph Tiger Explorer comes with standard equipment which includes adjustable handlebar position, adjustable screen, adjustable seat height, auto cancel indicators, auxiliary socket , centre stand, cruise control, engine protection bars, Immobiliser, hand guards, ride by wire, sump guard, switchable ABS, on-board computer, and TPMS ready. It comes with an instrument display having a LCD with a digital speedometer, analogue tachometer, a gear position indicator, range to empty, fuel gauge, clock, service indicator, frost warning, air temperature, a trip computer, hazard warning lights and a tire pressure monitoring system.. The Triumph Tiger Explorer has attractive over all design features, make it an adventure motorcycle like the upright seating position, high ground clearance, specialised front faring with high windshield and alloy wheels. Its unique elements include special guards for the engine and body work that appear to be naked bits of the frame giving the bike a muscular appearance, adjustable ABS, traction control, cruise control and ride-by-wire throttle.

Triumph Tiger Explorer Specification :- The Tiger Explorer is powered by a liquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, In-line 3-cylinder, 1215 cc engine which produces maximum power of 135.1bhp at 9300 rpm and maximum torque of 121 nm at 6400 rpm. Breaking system includes twin 305 mm,floating discs, Nissin 4-piston calipers, Switchable ABS at front and single 282 mm disc, Nissin 2-piston sliding caliper, Switchable ABS at rear. The front suspension is KYB 46 mm upside down forks, adjustable pre-load, 190 mm travel and rear suspension is KYB monoshock with remote oil reservoir, hydraulically adjustable pre-load, rebound damping adjustment, 194 mm rear wheel travel. The fuel tank capacity is of 20 litres and dry weight (Kerb/Wet) is 267kg. It has 6 speed gear box and wet, multi-plate clutch.
