Auto Expo 2023: This time Electric Vehicle (EV) will dominate the country’s biggest motor show ‘Auto Expo 2023’. Organized by both the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Indian Auto Expo is expected to see participation of more than 30 pure EV OEMs. However, the organizers of the show – SIAM and CII are yet to reveal the final list of participants for the Auto Expo to be held in the new year. 1. Upcoming Electric Car Companies in Auto Expo

After waiting for two years, finally the Auto Expo is going to be held this year. Auto Expo 2023 is going to be held at the Expo Center in Greater Noida from 13 to 18 January 2023, About 30 electric vehicle manufacturers will showcase their vehicles in the 16th edition of Auto Expo-The Motor Show, to be held in January 2023. These vehicles will be of commercial vehicle segment including two, three and four wheelers. A senior official of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has given this information during the conversation.

2. Chinese companies participated in Auto Expo 2020

Let us tell you that during the last edition of this show i.e. Auto Expo 2020, only half the EV companies had participated as compared to this time. Some of them were also Chinese companies which are not visible after the show. On the other hand, if we talk about sales, there is an improvement in the sales of EVs in the passenger vehicle segment. In the month of April this year, 2,150 EVs were sold. This figure more than doubled in November. In November 2022, EV sales increased to 5,376. However, this is just a fraction of the total passenger vehicle sales figure. A total of 276,231 passenger vehicles were sold in November.

3. Maruti Toyota Electric Car

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota are working together to make a new electric SUV. This concept electric car is being called YY8. It can be showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. While this car can be seen in the market till 2025. This car can be 4.2 meters long. It is expected to get more range with a bigger battery pack.

4. Tata Punch EV

Tata Motors is all set to launch the electric version of its Punch micro SUV in the market by the end of this year. This car can be introduced in Auto Expo 2023. It is likely to get a range of over 300km with 26 kWh and 30.2 kWh battery packs. It will be designed on the GEN 2 (Sigma) platform.

5. Kia EV9

Kia has announced that it will showcase its concept electric car EV9 SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo. This car will be 4,929 mm long, 2,055 mm wide and 1,790 mm high and its wheelbase will be 3,099 mm. The Kia EV9 concept will be based on the modular E-GMP electric car architecture.

6. Hyuncai Ioniq 6

Hyundai will also showcase the Ioniq 6 electric sedan at the Auto Expo. This car is based on the e-GMP skateboard architecture. This electric sedan will be 4855 mm long, 1880 mm wide and 1495 mm high and its wheelbase will be 2950 mm. Two battery pack options of 54kWh and 77kWh can be found in it.

7. BYD Seal EV

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD (Build Your Dreams) may introduce its Sealed EV at the 2023 Auto Expo. The Born Electric model measures 4800mm in length, 1875mm in width and 1460mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2875mm. BYD Seal can be brought with two battery packs of 61kWh and 82.5kWh with blade battery technology.

8. MG4 Electric Hatchback

MG Motor will showcase its MG4 electric hatchback at the 2023 Auto Expo. The car recently received a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP crash tests. It comes with two battery packs of 51 kWh and 64 kWh. Which are capable of giving a range of up to 350 km and 452 km respectively. Along with this, it is also equipped with many features.

9. Toyota bZ4X / Prious / Hilux Electric

Japanese carmaker Toyota can showcase its BZ (Beyond Zero) series at the upcoming Auto Expo. Which will include vehicles like bZ4X electric SUV, Prius electric sedan and Hilux pickup electric.

These Companies will launch four Wheelers

Apart from this, three electric cars, which will be showcased by companies like BYD India, Wayway Mobility and Pravaig Dynamics. Along with this, three electric commercial vehicles will also be showcased, which will be brought by companies like Omega Seki, Hexal Motors and Jupiter Electric. In terms of market share, PV manufacturers account for about 83 per cent of the market share and commercial vehicle companies are expected to have over 74 per cent of the market share, Menon said. Apart from that, A new series of ‘flex fuel’ vehicles will also be introduced at the show.
