1. Maruti Suzuki Jimny

The Indo-Japanese carmaker is all set to roll out its 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV in the month of May, probably in the last week. Customers interested in buying this SUV can book the new SUV online or at authorized dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. This is apparently one of the upcoming Maruti cars that car lovers in the country have been waiting for a long time. Powering the new Maruti SUV is a 1.5-litre, K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 103bhp power and 134Nm torque. This engine can come with 5-speed manual or 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Jimny model lineup will come in Zeta and Alpha variants, which include touchscreen Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system, reverse camera, color MID display and many more features.

2. Maruti Suzuki ENGAGE MPV

Maruti Suzuki will bring in a rebadged Toyota based premium MPV based on the Innova Highcross. It will be the costliest offering from the Indo-Japanese automaker in India. For power in the MPV, it will use a 2.0-liter petrol engine, which will come with and without hybrid technology. The strong hybrid setup generates 186PS of peak power and 206Nm of torque. At the same time, the petrol engine generates power of 174PS and torque of 205Nm. The new Maruti MPV will be designed on Toyota’s monocoque TNGA-C platform and will come with ADAS, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, second-row seats with ottoman function, connected car Tech will come with many more features.

3. Maruti 7-seater SUV

The Indo-Japanese automaker will be entering the premium 7-seater SUV segment in the coming years. If reports are to be believed, the new Maruti three-row SUV will be based on the Grand Vitara and will rival the likes of Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700. This will be the third Nexa offering from Maruti Suzuki this year. The company has not yet disclosed any official details about this model. However, it is likely to come with Toyota’s strong hybrid powertrain along with the naturally aspirated petrol engine. This means that there will be 1.5-litre K15C petrol mild hybrid and 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle strong hybrid powertrains.

4. New-Gen Maruti Swift

Japanese automaker Suzuki has started testing the next-gen Swift hatchback on European roads. If reports are to be believed, the global debut of the new model will happen by mid-2023. The new model of the hatchback may also come to India by next year. One of the much-anticipated upcoming Maruti cars, the 2024 Maruti Swift will see significant design changes and will also see an upgrade to the cabin. The new model will be based on a stronger version of the HEARTECT platform which is used in the new Baleno hatchback. It will continue to be offered with the 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options. The new model will also get a factory fitted CNG kit. According to reports, it will be powered by a new 1.2-litre petrol engine, coupled with a strong hybrid powertrain that can return over 40 kmpl. If this happens, the new Swift will become the most fuel efficient car in the country.

5. New-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Similar to the next generation model of Maruti Swift, Maruti Suzuki will bring a new generation model of its Dzire compact sedan in 2024. The new DZire will come with a host of design and interior changes along with a better fuel efficient powertrain. The sedan will be based on Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform which is also offered in Baleno and Fronx. The new 2024 Maruti Dzire will come with a new 1.2-litre petrol engine with strong hybrid technology. This engine will give a mileage of 35 to 40 kmpl (ARAI certified). Compared to the regular petrol variant, the Strong Hybrid Dzire is expected to cost around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh more.

6. Maruti Suzuki Electric SUV

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota will together launch a new electric vehicle in the Indian market by 2025. The first EV from Maruti Suzuki will be a mid-size SUV and will measure around 4.2 meters in length. The Suzuki-Toyota JV is developing a different derivative of the 40PL platform, codenamed 27PL. The platform will be used to develop a wide range of family EVs starting from compact cars, MPVs or SUVs. The first mid-size electric SUV will be based on the 27PL. The electric vehicle will source the battery pack from TDSG, a joint venture between Suzuki, Denso and Toshiba to manufacture large-scale batteries. In fact, Maruti Suzuki India Limited introduced the early prototype of the EV named EVX at the 2023 Auto Expo. The production version of this SUV is expected to arrive in early 2025. The concept model was fitted with a 60kWh battery pack and was claimed to offer a range of 550 km on a single charge.
